I used to get phone calls until I changed my number, but now I'm getting post, it started off as a letter that seemed to come from the Dr's with what appeared to be a vile of blood, now it's Sim cards from Mobile Phone company's. Most of the phone company's have been helpful apart from T-Mobile, when I phoned them and told them that I'd received post addressed to 'YOUR CAT IS A BOMB' the woman acted like this was the most normal thing in the world! I just want it to stop! Any suggestions?

I've already been to the police but as I live in the UK and people seem to be able to request sim cards over the net with the name 'YOUR CAT IS A BOMB' and it still gets sent out, then the police are at a loss to suggest what to do next. I have two lovely cats and I don't know what to do. I keep them both in so they've not been anywhere near anyone I don't know.

This behaviour is an offence of Harassment. Go back to the police station and tell them that you want to report an offence of harassment. Ask them for a crime number. This is the number that they log the offence under and will confirm that they have recorded this as an offence.

Keep any evidence and bring it with you to the police station if you have it. And for now, it is probably best to make sure your cat is kept indoors.

But do not let anyone get away with this. You must make sure the police record it as a reported crime and you can phone them periodically to check on any progress.

This is too difficult of a problem to try and solve for yourself. Contact the police commander who has your section of the city or your town. File a report at the postal center that you received blood in the mail. Not all of the officials are going to be tech savvy so you may have to go slow and explain from the start. Have you called a national security agency yet? You could go online and fill out an incident report like you can do in the US for the FBI. You may not realize that you have a stalker. This is why you need the local police. Make sure that your home is secure by following the crime prevention tips for neighborhood watch, etc. Make a note of the places you visit and think back if someone is observing you a lot or acting strangely around you. Tell your friends and neighbors that you have alerted the police about a security matter. Sometimes this will get back to the person doing it and they will stop. I hope you get rid of the sick fiend so your life can be normal for you and your pets. Best of luck to you.

Visit the website of the Mailing Prefence Service (link below). It enables you to put a Stop on unsolicited mail.

Normally this takes up to 3 months to fully 'kick in' because not all organisations check their mailing lists at the same time.

We have found it extremely effective in stopping the junk mail, stuff to the previous householder and joke mail.

There is also a Telephone Preference Service which you can use to stop Cold Callers (the double glazing salesman types).

If you continue to get these letters (keep them) after setting up your Mailing Preference then you will have done "everything that a reasonable person could have done".

In that case you can press the Police to take action against the sender because that has now become Harassment and a criminal matter.

Firstly, lets look at the facts.
The sender knows you and not just your address, he/she knows you own cats.
Is this an ex boy/girlfriend that has taken exception to the fact that you've split.?
Have you had a bad break up from this person?
Have you been in a fight with one of your friends?
You need to sit down and think who would find it funny to do this to you.
I wouldn't panic about the items you're getting through the post as they are non threatening and harmless.
Just through them in the bin as they arrive if you don't want them.
When you do figure out who is sending the items then you can return the favour by bombarding them with unwanted post, but nothing threatening.

This would very likely fall under the category of "Making a terroristic threat"

You should gather up all evidence and get the police to investigate. The police can involve postal inspectors, get warrants for phone and text message recordss, and very possibly find and punish the person making the threats.

Don't get upset if the phone company can't do the police's job.

Keep everything you get sent through the post ,
it will be used as evidence ,
and go to the police,
It is a threat , and not very nice for you to be continually sent these things,
with luck the police will find out who has been sending them and then charge them with threatening behaviour.
Try and smile don’t let these nasty people get you down and have a fantastic New Year

that's really awful, it sounds like harassment to me, do you have beef with someone?

I think the post needs to be traced, it needs police investigation and it shouldn't be that hard for the phone companies to track down the source

good luck

When I get unsolicited mail I write do not send me any more mail in big letters , write return to sender and pop it back in the post box. It costs whoever sent it money for the postage back.
