Get a study guide from a bible store, & an adult leader.
There are lots of good materials for youth groups.

I think you need a leader and a teacher, preferably someone who has studied the Bible more than you guys already have. The leader could rotate from student to student each week or month, sure. That person would make sure everyone knows about the meeting, organize the refreshments and maybe an activity, and open & close the meeting in prayer. The teacher, would be the one leading the Bible study part. A young man (or woman, depending on your church traditions) who's currently in Bible College would be a good choice. He or she wouldn't have to worry about arranging the meetings and all that (your own leader would do that part) but would simply prepare and teach the Bible lesson.

Because we're not in Heaven yet, we still need to deal with human sin here on earth, even in church groups. If you choose to have no leader, someone is going to try to run the group anyway; things might get ugly if two people decide they both want to lead. If you have a leader on a rotation basis, everyone who wants a turn gets one. You all get leadership training, and the group still has direction.

Personally, I'd say find a service project once a month that you can all participate in together. Ask your pastor for ideas if you don't have any. Email me if you need more.

Well I am part of a bible group, and what we do is just catch up on things until everyone arrives, then we normally play a game, like go outside and play tag, or a fun board game or something. Then we eat a snack. (we try to have fun at first because a youth group, or bible group should also be a place where people feel comfortable and safe to talk about things. Playing fun games lets them be their selves and become like family with the others in the group) After that, everyone is normally calmed down and we usually talk about the gospel reading in church that week. Then we read a passage from the bible and discuss it, talk about what it means and try to relate it into our lives and if/how it affects us. Some passages in the bible are harder to understand so we might act them out or try to use fun examples. Then we close with a prayer, standing in a circle holding hands, one person starts and then lightly squeezes the next persons hand to continue.

Hope this helps
:]

I think there should always be a leader.
But it really depends on the group members
take a vote. You can make things more exiting
if you volunteer some where to help the community
make the world a better place.
and create funds (recycle)
Every now and then get a good movie to watch
about god.
Never run from challenges, questions, or even conflict in your group. Remember, the Bible says, "Iron sharpens iron." The group that doesn't have sparks actually doesn't have as much life. Healthy groups have conflict.
umm okay i got that from this site lol
check it out seems okay

hey! okay, to keep it fun, youve gotsta not spend the whole time study-study-studying.
dont get me wrong, its a Bible discussion group, so thats deff important.
heres some suggestions:
1.before you start, play a game (ice breakers are good, even if you all know each other).
2.be on a rotating schedule of some sorts of someone to bring food. simple things such as soda, chips&dip, etc. are good.
3. once a month or so, get together for just some bonding time. its good to hang out together; it gets you in closer relationships with other Christians (I assume you're Christians) which is good.
4. if you get off-topic, dont flip. its okay, unless its an innapropriate topic. ESPECIALLY if its something spiritual. sometimes last minute changes are necessary! wouldnt you hate it if you started talking about something that had really been on your heart but everyone tried to shut you up so they could stick to the plan?!
5. as for the leadership thing, it depends on your group. if you do decide on having a leader, though, make sure its someone that isnt too up-tight, but is put together enough to stay on task for the most part.
good luck& God Bless
=]
make sure you have enough time scheduled in to do this stuff.

You can't make a bible group fun unless you have it at a fun place... I'd say nobody should be the leader, but you should have a person in charge of making phone calls and stuff like that

If you have a young man in the group who shows leadership skills, or evidence of an ability to teach the Bible well, ask him to sort of head things up, you know, steer the discussion. If you want to make it fun, go out for pizza or go bowling or tobogganing now and then as a group. We do this with the young people in my church and it's a blast!

As for interesting, I think each week you might come up with an obscure bible passage and explore it's meaning in your everyday life. it will be a real hoot to figure out how someone begetting someone else means something in your everyday life. OK maybe just go for the obscure one's that actual are full sentences that deal with some subject.

As for leadership, it will come naturally if it is needed otherwise following the advice of the quakers, religion should come from the heart and be spoken of as if from the heart not decided by others (that's a paraphrase of their saying, I don't recall the full one)

First of all that is wonderful that you all are being independent enough to do such a thing....What types of interesting things are you looking to do to implement into your group? As far as the leadership goes; if you feel that you are able to maintain without their being a head huncho then see how that works...but it is probably better to have someone in charge from the beginning so that there won't be any difficulties but make it someone that isn't ego struck and knows how to work well with people.

Try this for starters.
Our kids at the cafe take turns being the leader at each "study".
Of course, if one doesn't want to they don't have to, some don't have the gift and they get too nervous. If you email me, I will give you some sites that can tell you how to make it fun and interesting. A KEY is to study topics that are interesting and promote discussion. And the things of the Bible are NOT boring !
