It's as disgusting as a woman putting on her panty hose in the office. These things should be done in a closed room or in the rest room.

That's RUDE, and even though I agree that sometimes you feel the urge, you can still run to the bathroom and scratch as much as you want!!! You don't need for everyone else to see. I think it's very bad manners and the men I hang around with don't do it in front of everyone. My ex BF would only do it in front of me when we were alone at home.... not when there were more people around. So you see, it CAN be avoided in certain situations and guys can choose where they feel comfortable enough to do it without having to hide. But a holiday party is definitely not one of those places!!!

You know, uuh.. that's rude. I wouldn't say so if it was at a bar, a baseball game, hunting, whatever. As a professional, I would advise against that in a workplace or during a holiday party. I guess what I'm saying is, there's a time and a place for everything. I mean, if it was a quick itch, blow it off. Could have just slipped from being comfy. But if he was doing it repeatedly or obnoxiously, I'd be a little offended.

I think alot of guys do scratch there without even be aware of what they're doing. Then I think they also can be without manners too. But the guys I've been comfortable enough with to point out this error, have always been embarrassed after they realize what they were doing! So, I think mostly, it's just because they aren't thinking.

It's rude and guys KNOW it's rude. In what universe would anyone think scratching your privates in public (I consider this public since you had guests) good manners. Sometimes my boob will itch and no one would ever see me reaching up to scratch it. It's just like passing gas in front of company, there is a bathroom for that, adjusting your privates and scratching yourself.

Well who was this guy anyway? Was he a relative, friend, a relative of a friend? Did people get a kick out of it?
Maybe he needed to scratch and was in the moment and was oblivious that people would look if he did that.

Bring him a bar of soap and washcloth. Or send him a bottle of flea shampoo in the mail wrapped up real pretty.

That is too funny. It probably is a habit. You reminded me of a councilman who would shake his underwear and pull it up to his chest. We wondered what kind of underwear did he have that would go up to his chest. It didn't matter who was around. He got reported, but he still could not contain himself. I always had to look away. One of the executives tried to sue him to make a buck.

Sometimes guys don't know this but it is not proper to do that in front of people, you never know who is watching or looking.
He must need a bath or something to control that.
