Antibiotics are for bacterial infections like strep throat
The flu is a viral infection, and antibiotics will do no good.
The only way to know is to go to a doctor and he can tell you if you need antibiotics.
I wish people weren't stupid about antibiotics. they misuse them all the time. They don't take the whole amount, or the take them when not needed. This is what causes antibiotic resistance!

As everybody else said, flu is not a bacteria and it has to get out of your system and antibiotics wont work,if you are willing to go to the DR ask for Tamiflu,it's pretty much the only thing that helps fasten the process. Its expensive and it has no generic yet,so if you have insurance give it a shot.

The flu is a virus and thus is not affected by antibiotics.

flu is a virus and should not be treated with antibiotics cause they kill bateria. when yoiu take antibiotics they also kill the good cells in your body so dont take it unless you have strep throat or a bateria causing problem. as it will lower your immune system

no... antibiotics won't cure the flu.... the flu is a virus... it has to run its course... get a lot of sleep, drink lots of water and eat lots of chicken noodle soup... Also... for the symptoms... you can take like Theraflu or something like that.
