its embarrassing. and there are soo many friggin kinds. some have butterflys, some have pearls, some are wide, narrow, different colors. playtex, tampax, and all different kinds. there is a whole aisle just for them.

(i work in Rite aid, and my aisle is the tampon aisle)

Most guys wanna be seen as tough, mean and manly. The last thing in the world they need is to be bothered with something as intimately feminine as a womans tampons -- a thing that a she cleans herself with. Now this may sound crude and masochistic (and does not necessarily reflect my views) but its the general subliminal truth -- a man would rather conquer the pussy than to pamper it!

I am a man of 46 and have never had a problem with going to the store for my Lady and picking up tampons or pads or any other feminine hygiene product when she is in need. I guess it is either a problem of being to insecure with their manhood or just not caring enough to take care of something this personal for someone you "love"

Yeah, I've been wondering that too. I think it's the whole manlyness thing. They'll go out and buy condoms in a second, but if you ask them to buy something that's obviously for a girl then that makes it seem like the woman's in control [which is how it SHOULD be!] and they can't stand it.

Maybe you just know the kind of guys that think it's a "questionable" behavior to buy tampons for their wife / gf.

There's always been a stigma out there about guys being sent out like errand boys to buy stuff for their girls. Both single men and women make fun of guys like that. Guys are sensitive about being made fun of so they don't want to get the stuff, even if they personally have no problem with it..

I think must guys hate it because we really have no clue what to get and don't want to ask. when we go shopping we want to be in and out not having to compare to see about heavy and light days and all that stuff. I think is like asking a girl to buy some motor oil, must women would not know what to get.

Nothing wrong with it but asking him to go out at 11pm to do it is inconsiderate and lazy of yourself.

I imagine that if you know you are about to come up on a cycle you should either ask him when you guys are out in the daytime or get them yourself.

Then again, do you buy his jock itch cream or condoms for him?

My question to you is didn't you know you were running out of tampons? I mean really asking someone to pick up anything at 11 pm seems out of line to me, but that's just my opinion!

You answered your own question.

Have you never noticed that guys act very differently when they are out alone vs out with their gf/wife?

When they are buying feminine hygiene products, its like you are there and they can't shift into their "alone" mode.
