There had already been 1 attempt on her life and with all of those allah nut jobs over there you would think she would be smarter. I feel bad for her family, if I was her kid I would be furious with her. Why do you think she ignored the dangers?

I do admire her courage but I think it was selfish of her to put herself in harms way so many time again. If you want to be a martyr then dont have kids.

I can't imagine what she was thinking!
She, more than anyone, had to know that those radicals would find a way to kill her. I can't imagine why she sacrificed herself needlessly.

Well, in fact if you inform yourself a bit more about her life, you'll learn that the 1st attack aimed at her earlier this year (October) was just one more of SEVERAL that had been planned along her life. She had escaped death several times in the past.... it looks like it was just a matter of time for this to happen. I feel so sorry for her family but she took her courage and love for her country too far. However, she was pursuing an ideal and maybe this makes her a heroin in front of her children, even though they may be angry because she's gone now. She was looking for a greater well-being, not only herself's. I do think she should never have gone back to Pakistan.... but her courage and sense of responsibility were greater than her fear.

So? Did that stop Reagan from going out in public?
It's about NOT BEING AFRAID. If you're a politician and you show fear, you're going to be seen as a coward by the whole country.

After an attempt on your life, if you still go out and show the people you're not afraid, they'll realize you're brave and stand for your beliefs even though others may disagree with you.

Because she loved her people. She knew she was an inspiration to them since before she was prime minister years ago and because of that, and the fact that her father was a loved hero in that country, too, she gave her people hope. They are living under the undemocratic government now (which the Bush administration supports. Don't let this traitorous administration fool you. They don't give a **** about democracy except as a buzz word to rally people behind their greedy causes.) She risked her life for her people just like any soldier believes he is. She knew she was taking risks but she was thinking of others.

because it was either hide or make a stand for a restoration of democracy in pakistan. she was extremely courageous, and deserves much better than to have her common sense questioned. she was acutely aware of the dangers, but valued the welfare of her people above her own safety. there should be more people like her.

She saw a need that was greater then her own personal needs. She wanted to be there for Pakistan. Hopefully her children see her as the honorable human being she is. All americans are taught that they should be willing to die for their country. She was just doing the same thing.

She was in an armored vehicle.......standing in the sunroof.... exposed from the waist up.....she was less than 8 feet from the gun and the bomber when he shot at her and blew up his self....you tell me what she could have done.

Maybe used more than one motorcade car....maybe stayed inside of her armored car....maybe used a different route than she did....maybe stayed out of Pakistan altogether? There are lots of things she could have done.

For the same reason Washington wintered in Valley Forge. A huge risk that could lead to freedom.

I think she felt compelled to do her thing...send out her message... set her example... I think she knew she would most likely die... but to say that publicly would be cowardly...

I am not sure of her stance... But I did see her in the news...

I could see it..she knew...it was inevitable..I am sure they discussed it prior...what was important to them as a family..
