A rule of thumb for cancer is: if it doesn't hurt, then it's not cancer. That rule only really counts for the surface cancers though, because internal ones (unless they occlude a nerve) don't generally cause pain until they are quite large growths. In this case, you have very little to worry about as you say it has been the same size for over a year and is causing you no pain. In all likelihood, this is nothing more than a skin tag. A skin tag is an abnormal growth of skin akin to a mole. Don't worry about it unless it becomes painful, discoloured, mushy or any combination thereof. Good luck! Take care!

If it seems like a superficial bump, just on the skin, it's probably an ingrown hair. No biggie. Esp if it's red or hurts.

If it's deeper than the skin, he needs to see a doctor quickly. He could have some inflammation of his lymph glands and needs to get it checked out asap.

Lissette is probably on target. Due to the location, it is most probably a swollen lymph node. This means he probably has a low-grade infection somewhere in his body, and when is body has successfully fought it off, it will shrink back down. If it doesn't shrink back down in a few days, and if he starts running a fever, then he should see a doctor.

you probably are over reacting hun... if its a "small bump" tham your probably looking at a zit, not a cancerous lump...
but if you're that worried about it I guess you could go to the doctor and get it checked. I wouldn't worry unless it grows larger...

Tumor...nah im just kidding...its probably a harmless cyst or infection. I would have the doctor look at it.

Squeeze it a little and see if anything comes out, if not best go have it checked out.
