130 pounds is a healthy weight for that height. She's a tall 11 year old but there's nothing wrong with that.
Aside from that, 11 year olds are still growing and developing. Puberty probably hasn't even fully hit her yet. A diet could throw off everything. She's fine. She does not need to lose weight, now, though exercise is important at any age. If after puberty, she finds herself overweight, then a regimen diet and exercise is fine.

5'4" and 130 lbs is not overweight for an adult female. If she is 11 years old and already 5'4", she is probably getting ready to grow into some of this weight as her body develops. No one should really lose weight fast - it isn't healthy, and it lowers the metabolism, making it easier to gain weight in the future and harder to lose it. If her doctor feels that she needs to lose weight now, rather than maintaining until she has gotten a bit further into puberty, then she should look at eating a healthy, balanced diet based on whole foods with abundant fruits and vegtables and adequate amounts of lean protein, from sources like poultry, fish, eggs, and beans. She should avoid sugary, starchy, and overly fatty foods, like sodas, french fries, white bread, hamburgers, sweets, and fried foods. She should exercise regularly for 30 to 60 minutes per day, 4-5 days per week.
Even if she doesn't need to lose weight, adopting those eating and exercise habits now will help keep her healthy throughout her whole life. Much better in the long run AND the short run than trying to diet, lose weight quickly, and end up lowering her metabolism, as well as depriving herslf of the nutrients she needs as she matures.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Her ideal weight would be 120 lbs but perhaps she has a large frame. At 130 lbs her weight is OK and she does not really need to lose any weight.

okay losing weight "fast!?" is really not the best way to think about it. losing weight at all is hard. there are no magic tricks that work, so don't waste your time looking up pills or magic machines online. if she's your friend, just make sure you help her stick to eating healthy and maybe go jogging with her for moral support :]
if she doesn't take offense, she'll appreciate it.
i'm sure youve heard about diet and exercise. it's becasue IT WORKS! but nobody thinks it's easy so as her friend, help her stick to it. you'll even get healthier in the process

for safe weight gain it shouldn't be too fast. Talk to your friend and be sympathetic and try to help her out. Have her parents make an appointment to see a doctor and go from there

That's not that fat. If she wants to lose some try some exercising and drink some milk. Take a dance class. Dancing is always fun.

well she should eat healthy, and do some excersizes. but you can't rush into anything. don't expect to lose 30 lbs in a month, it's IMPOSSIBLE. if she just eats less junk and more healthy food now, and then moves slowly into better and better eating habits, she'll be just fine. and make sure she does some excersize too. be constant. she can't eat healthy one day and all junk the next, it won't work!

She is too young to start yoyo dieting (honest to God, it will mess up her metabolisim). She simply needs to avoid fast food and junk food. By just drink more water and eating healthy food (fruits, veggies, lean meats etc.) she will even out. BTW, she is within average weight boundries.
