i was wondering because the symantics never get through and can be misinterperated depending on the other persons mood, especially when passing some humor.

Just as with online communication (only worse) text messaging can be easily misinterpreted and misunderstood. Be careful what you type via text...save any questionable humor for voice or face-to-face communication where the meaning is less likely to be lost.

Yes, I had a girlfriend whose boyfriend of over a year broke up with her via text!

... and then man was over 50yo!

Won't ever happen to me! I refused to accept text!

This is true, email causes the same problems at times...... Me and a close friend of mine have said we should call more instead of just emailing or texting.....

yes it can...people can misinterpret what you say. your better off saying either face to face or on the phone...
