The sun is such a vital part of life. It fuels all energy on earth, sustains the life cycle.

Why then, would God have made it so bright that it can very easily blind us? Why not tweak our sensitivity to light so that it's not dangerous?

And ultraviolet rays emitted from our sun that cause Cancer? What's the intelligently designed meaning behind that one?

God invented sunglasses? Really? Gee, I could've sworn that the Chinese did in the 1200s...

My bad, then.

Perhaps we are responsible for the dangers of the sun...we meaning human beings! We're certainly doing our part to make the sun increasingly dangerous (e.g., polluting the atmosphere and bikinis come to mind).

According to the bible, the earth was watered from within until the time of the flood. During the flood, God opened the waters of the earth (underground water) and the waters of heaven (rain). The earth was covered with water for nearly a year. Now, supposing that's the basic truth (simplistic but accurate), what would this flood and the sudden introduction of rain into the environment do to the atmosphere and, as a result, to the impact of the sun on the earth?

...and what if the sun is getting brighter and hotter as part of God's ultimate plan...setting the stage for the way he plans to bring an end to the earth as we know it?

I'm just speculating here to illustrate my main point...that if God is who he says he is, then he has an intelligently designed meaning even if you (or I or anyone else) can't understand it!

...and consider this...what if the sun isn't the only factor "causing" cancer (skin cancer I assume). If you can find me a pure, unbroken line of people that consistently obeyed all of God's instructions for the care and maintenance of the human body AND show me that they had sun-induced cancer, I'd accept that God must have wanted us to get cancer for some unknown reason. How do you know that repeated generations of people failing to follow God's instructions didn't create the susceptibility to the sun that allows it to trigger skin cancer!!???

Sorry, I jumped on my what if wagon for a bit...my only excuse is that I find it so interesting that people today blame God for things like this without also accepting that God put us in charge of this planet a long time ago and we've been messing it and ourselves up for thousands of years. The earth we see today and, for the most part, even the people we see today bear little resemblance to what he created!

or the winter so cold that you need a coat ; don't blame God for the choice of man and the eroding of the ozone layer ; not to mention that cancer is on the rise ; drug companies making loads of money; food is contaminated for profit; etc etc ; it isn't God it is man ; put blame where due ; even a child listens ; if the sun hurts your eyes , don't look , free will ; man does not create ; don't second guess God; he has designed things pretty well; we have everything to be happy and it doesn't cost a dime

There may have been a canopy that protected us from over exposure before the global flood.

Maybe so we would stop worshiping the sun and worship Him.
