Catholics are Christian.
Of course a protestant Christian can be a God Parent for a Catholic child if that is what the child's parent chooses. :-)

Catholics ARE Christian.

I do believe only Catholic Christians are eligible, and not other denominations.

However, if I were Catholic, and other denominations were eligible, I would not allow someone who did not recognize Catholicism as a Christian denomination be the god parent of my children.

I think that at least one of the Godparents has to be of the Catholic Christian variety. Rather than both being of the Protestant Christian variety.

Of course. Catholicism IS Christian, so obviously the godparent must be Christian.

I think what you meant was 'Can a Protestant be a godparent for a Catholic child?'

Catholics are Christians.

The answer is yes, but only if the other god-parent is a practicing Catholic, otherwise the church will not allow it.

I am not Catholic, but I am a godmother to my Catholic nephew, but his godfather is a Catholic.

Don't think so. A few yrs ago a friend asked me to be his grandkid's godfather and I told him to find somebody else bc I wasn't religious, and he came back a few weeks later and said he didn't know any other Catholics, so I agreed to do it.
