Depends upon your municipality, or county if you aren't in a municipality. And in any case, normal restrictions of hunting seasons and licenses would apply.

Check with the DNR - almost every city I've heard about makes it a crime to discharge a "projectile weapon" inside city limits or incorporated areas. Most of them lump bows and crossbows in there too. Some places are issuing special permits for bow hunting to thin urban populations of deer .Bama seems to be more enlightened about outdoor pursuits than other states but it might save you a bunch of money to check.

i might might desire to declare "no". i'm no longer attentive to Maryland's rules, yet purely approximately each city municipality has strict rules with reference to the capturing of firearms and the taking of animals. Discharging a firearm will in many circumstances land you a quotation. whilst i'm particular that numerous human beings might use pneumatic weapons to shoot starlings and such, what they're doing may be unlawful. the biggest situation is that discharging an air rifle right into a aim with a backstop is a greater "contolled" activity than capturing at some thing the place a stray BB might reason damge or harm to human beings and components. that's the biggest reason that city searching is against the regulation. For rural dwellers it is not a situation. each now and then they do no longer even desire a license to seek on their very own components, besides the certainty that they might might desire to very own the required "stamps" and such.

What I'm understanding, you want to "hunt" in your backyard?
You're not talking practice?
We all know rules/regulations/legalities, are different from State to State. However, if you ask your local Police or DNR you can be pretty well assured the answer would be no.
You're too close to homes. One stray arrow and it would be all over.

check with county sheriff dept and then with state game warden.....unless you live in city limits then you could have a problem even if it is a rural area city ordinances will apply so check 1st......also check zoning map at county records just to make sure where you want to hunt is ok also.....

you have to check your local ordinances for the town that you live in for how much land you would need; licenses for particular type of animal etc; hope that you know what you are doing as well; many a person has gotten anxious and shoots to hit an kill a child or a person; know what you are doing before you do it so you don't end up in jail for illegal hunting or worse.
