Samsung makes the biggest piles of crap ever made.
Sharp is OK, but not high quality.
The most reliable units on the market are the Sony lines, they feature the best pictures, best factory support, and most reliable.

I have a 32" Sony Bravia LCD and I've had it over a month now and I just love it. No complaints here. Good luck.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of Sharp due to the return rates on their larger sets, they do make the meanest 32". The Sharp LC32GP1U is probably the best, but you will also find it the most expensive 32.
It's the best because it is one of the only small sized flat panels with a 1080p resolution And one of if not The highest contrast ratio (10,000:1 - more than many 40") at that size. Sure its the best but most sets dont have a 1080p resolution because it doesn't make that much of a difference at that size.
Now If price is a bit of an issue grab the Toshiba 32HL67U, the LG 32" (excellent quality sets, totally underrated), or any of the Samsung 32" sets.
As an afternote, when you shop for a tv, compare contrast ratios as well as price.
