The only politician in Hog-Washington D.C. who still maintains that global warming does not exist is Larry Craig. He was the Republican representative from the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee at the United Nations' climate change conference in Bali, Indonesia earlier this month.

Rumor is that he didn't show up for any of the meetings.

There is actually a theory, that global warming is a natural occurrence. It's based on 3 different factors. The tilt of the earth, the rotation of the earth, and the earths orbit around the sun. Each of these things normally fluctuates. The tilt fluctuates back and forth a few degrees, The rotation speeds up and slows down slightly, and the orbit varies between a circular orbit and an oval shaped pattern. For the earth to freeze or thaw it would take extreme weather. When each of these three factor reaches a certain point at the same time it would cause an extreme, either cold or hot. So you would either get an ice age or a thaw. We are currently in the process of a thaw. The planet will keep getting warmer, until it thaws completely, and then eventually the pendulum will turn back towards a freeze. You can better understand the relation of each factor if you were to graph them. You would have 3 different wavy lines like an alternating current. At the point that all three of these lines would cross at the same time would be the freeze or thaw.

This process actually takes billions of years.

boogie: How do you suppose we are going to dispose of those fluorescent bulbs, and the batteries from the hybrid cars. Your only sacrificing future environmental health for the temporary.

There are natural cycles of heating and cooling on the earth, and the significant changes have been much more intense than the currently popular fad is yakking about.

I HOPE there is increased global warming! Warming benefits humanity, which is obvious to any child. People freeze to death, for god's sake! Cold is the enemy of Man.

MAKE THE EARTH WARMER! Decrease need for heating, saving fuel and reducing pollution.

Since you're obviously not old enough to remember anything from 30 years ago, where do you get the notion that "they said there was going to be a global freeze"? Who is the "they" you're referring too and have you done anything to verify if this claim by skeptics is true or not?

The truth is that there were no significant scientific reports 30 years ago indicating we were soon heading for a freeze. There was a popular book, a few non-scientific magazine reports (we all know they'll publish anything to sell issues), and a very small amount of scientific speculation. There's simply no similarities between the 2 issues (GW and 70's cooling) except both were related to the climate.

Actually global warming is a natural process. It is actually caused by increase in CO2,CO,CFC and other carbon products. It is increasing the temperature on earth which can lead to melting of ice caps on poles.

I guess all us humans should commit suicide so the earth will be able to live peacefully without evil humans corrupting it...

THAT is something that nobody nowhere will ever confirm to you. Just about every scientific institute says it's real and coming from the burning of carbon fossils of billions of people every day - just about any leader of industry and there fore politics says it is natural.

You can picture the disaster for most companies if millions of people actually start consuming differently.

I think it is real.

Global warming is a fraud. It's only purpose is to attack the western way of life. It's politics, not science.
