has anyone had a dog who got the cornavirus even though they got vaccinated? anyone got it without the vaccination? How bad was it in each case? I read and was told by a breeder that the corona vaccination is not necassary because:
A) it is not common
B) dogs over 8 weeks rarely get it
C) if they do, it is generally not very servere
D) dogs can get it even if vaccinated (the vaccination is not as effective as those for Parvo, distemper, etc.)
any thoughts?

This is true. Corona virus often doesn't even show clinical symptoms. It's not a core vaccination (rabies, parvo, distemper, and hepatitis are) and it's pretty much useless.

From the Univ. of California-Davis vet school:

"Infection with canine coronavirus alone has been associated with mild disease only, and only in dogs < 6 weeks of age. It has not been possible to reproduce the infection experimentally, unless immunosuppressive doses of glucocorticoids are administered. Serum antibodies do not correlate with resistance to infection, and duration of immunity is unknown. Vaccination against CPV protects puppies against challenge with both CCV and CPV. Therefore, the UC Davis VMTH does not routinely recommend vaccination against CCV and the vaccine is not stocked by our pharmacy."

I do not have my dogs vaccinated for the corona virus and do not plann on having them vaccinated agains the Lepto any more either.
My pup had a life threatening reaction to the Lepto vaccination and I started to do some research into the vaccinations for this. Unless Lepto is highly prevlant in your area it is not a necessary vaccination for your dog to have.
Just my opinion.

Unless your showing your dog or frequently kennel your dogs the corona vaccine I feel is not necessary.

Puppies over 6 weeks of age do NOT get coronavirus, coronavirus is NOT fatal, coronavirus only last @ 24 hours and it's over. Puppies/dogs over 6 weeks of age are immune to coronavirus no matter if they have had vaccinations for it or not.NO dog/puppy needs coronavirus and vets have been notified of that recommendation and the current protocol.
Coronavirus vaccinations are NO longer recommended by the AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools.

*****even if showing or kenneling coronavirus is not necassary or recommended********

No to the corona. Veterinary colleges no longer propose this vaccine. The ailment is now very uncommon. Vaccines specially might reason maximum cancers in case you over vaccinate. i do no longer comprehend if corona is any worse than the others. yet, as a results of fact it extremely is no longer mandatory to furnish it, there is no longer something to agonize approximately. as far as over vaccinating, the present protocol cautioned by utilizing the vet colleges and the AVMA (American Veterinary scientific affiliation) is as quickly as each 3 years, no longer one million 365 days like interior the previous. i think of you will see this modification as greater study exhibits canines do no longer might desire to be re-vaccinated anymore than people do. Lepto is no longer cautioned if the canines isn't in possibility of having the ailment. Lepto vaccine has a intense value of undesirable reactions notably in domestic canines. So despite in case you reside in a intense possibility concern, pass the vaccine till your pup is a minimum of four months previous. additionally, this vaccine in basic terms lasts 6 - 8 months, so in the adventure that your canines is in possibility, it needs to be vaccinated greater suitable than as quickly as a 365 days.
