Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur'an."

Tabari I:280 "Allah said, ‘It is My obligation to make Eve bleed once every month as she made this tree bleed. I must also make Eve stupid, although I created her intelligent.' Because Allah afflicted Eve, all of the women of this world menstruate and are stupid."

Bukhari:V1B22N28 "The Prophet said: ‘I was shown the Hell Fire and the majority of its dwellers were women who are disbelievers or ungrateful.' When asked what they were ungrateful for, the Prophet answered, ‘All the favors done for them by their husbands.'"

I was watching the CNN special tonight behind the veil.
About women in Afghanistan. They torch themselves and want to die. some are torched by their husbands.
There is 1 million widows, who the majority of them cannot read or write. Men want them to think they are stupid.
Men want them to think they are inferior or like animals.
I remember reading some very disturbing books that were taught 200 years ago about black people from Africa.
They were told they were stupid, they are some of the most intelligent people on the planet today. They were told they were like animals. Something to be possessed and bought and sold like cattle. That they were not going to heaven but where the animals went.
This is not only cruel but it is untrue. Just as we know there are some very intelligent women in the world today. Surgeons and astronauts, teachers and scientists.
They are killing off all the intelligent men who strap on a bomb and blow there self up. Which to me seems a bit stupid. They showed them before a crowd murdering women to keep them into subjection. Beheading and hanging and beating with a whip. Does any of that sound familiar?
Crippleing and dismembering the women in Africa who reject to being gang raped.
Then they said when the European influence came to Egypt the women came in half naked and brought corruption and sin into their life.
The truth is rape was used freguently before and children were sold before their teenage years to old men. The women were covered in berkas and heavy clothes. but they were taught to read and write. they were treated like humans.
You don't hear of them being blown up in the streets.
Osama Ben Lauden didn't say let's have peace. Let's treat others fairly. No he said let's kill all the Jews.
Who does that sound like? The last time someone wanted to do that he was the one who died. They have nuclear weapons. I don't think they will sit back and let a few young men with bombs blow them up. They may be doing what the emperior of Japan said, "we have awakened a sleeping giant"

First off, tabari has been shown not to be a truthful source, it says in the Qur'an not to hit your wife and if you must, use a feather. So obviously this means, DONT HIT THEM. Numerous Qur'an and hadith put emphasis on the good treatment of women. When a man asked the prophet(pbuh) who should be honored after Allah(the merciful and exalted) he replied, "your mother". After that he asked? "your mother" and after that? "Your mother" and after that your father. This means that a mother should exalted three times above the father for her hardships of childbearing and rearing. hence the saying, "heaven is at your mother's feet". It also says that any man who raises a daughter and gives her an education will be granted paradise. Please do some research(thorough!!)Before you go off on a tangent. Most of what goes on in the middle east is a result of culture not of religion. Women have been oppressed everywhere since the beginning of time, these people are just slow to stop the nonsense.

From what my professor (herself very much a feminist) told us, the idea behind the rather harsh treatment of women in Islamic society is based on an urge to protect their women. Basically they think they need to treat women like children to protect them from harm and from other men. Sounds ridiculous to us, but to them it makes perfect sense.

Many women in Islam pour kerosene on their bodies and set themselves on fire in suicide attempts because they are treated less than dogs. This is true in our "ally" nation of Afghanistan, and other Islamic regimes.

Many Islamic nations do not allow a woman to drive, get any type of education, or work. They are forced to beg in the streets for change like animals. They also have to wear a black veil of shame from head to toe. In Islam, women are third rate citizens at best.
