There are lots of anesthesia options for your cats. Our hospital uses injectable anesthetic first, then passes a tube down the throat for combination oxygen and inhaled anesthetic. There are many types of both. Talk to your vet about your options.

I have two male cats that have both been neutered, and yes, they do use anethesia.

Yes, of course. It would be difficult to get them to hold still enough to perform the surgery otherwise! It's usually an injectable anesthesia that wears off fairly readily. Particularly if they are young, they recover very quickly.

Mmmm, sometimes. They don't use anything heavy. Usually some numbing meds and a gas mask. Your cat will be fine though, just pamper it when it gets home.

There's a gas form and an injectable one, ask your vet which they use. But yes, it's an operation and they always use anesthesia of some sort.
