She would be mysterious to the the oranges as she is seen as being so different that she has become a real puzzle to them.

Miss Apple accepts this as fact, as has made a conscious choice to remain faithful to her own inner nature.

She is quite comfortable in her shiny red skin as it is of her own choosing.

She seems mysterious to those around her because she lives by a different set of values--rather like Thoreau's image of the man who marches to a different drummer.

She's mysterious because she comes from a completely different stock of people. She belongs in a completely different bucket than the people of the culture that surround her.
