Hi,
I want to buy a LCD HDTV, which size is the most cost effective?? and I heard that HDTV is easily broken, is that true??

For LCD, the 40" seems to be the sweet spot. The most important should be budget and desired size. Take your sitting distance divided by 2.5 and you will get the optimal screen size.

For example, 10 ft is your sitting distance.

(10 ft x 12 inches)/2.5 = 48 inches

This means you want a TV that is between 45-50".

HDTVs don't easily break, but require replacement earlier than older tube TVs. The technology is getting better, but on average, HDTVs last between 5-10 years. This is assuming that this is being used as your primary TV.
