Well, this means that you didn't brush enough with the braces on, so you can always get cosmetic surgery, but you should have brushed better when you had them on.

They aren't actually big. That is an illusion you are seeing, because the surface space used to be covered, and broken into parts by the braces. The idea that they are big will go away in a few days as you get used to seeing them with nothing interfering. As far as the yellow goes, that is just from food collecting and staining around the braces. Get them cleaned professionally, and brush brush brush!

You said you just got them off. You have gotten used to seeing your teeth with braces on them, so having them off, they look bigger to you. As long as they are straight and you don't have any marks on them or discoloration due to neglect, then it is perfectly normal. The natural color of teeth is not white. Teeth have shading in them, some yellow, some gray, some red, some brown. Everyone wants white, white teeth. Ask your dentist when he advises that it is OK to start bleaching them. Most dentists do not advise doing it immediately after getting the braces off, but most orthodontic patients do bleach them soon afterwards (maybe 6 wks from now) and are happy with the results.

Do you have to wear a retainer or any kind of appliance?? Both my kids just had braces removed and (in the last 6-8 months) and they both used the crest white strips until last month and they both got the dentist to give them a type of bleaching agent that they can put into their retainers for about 15 minutes a day and you would not believe how much whiter their teeth are...GOOD LUCK!!!

Maybe you should get them cleaned. Didn't the dentist tell you that buy having braces attached to your teeth that the weight of the metal will pull the teeth out of your gum and they will be bigger when they take off the braces????

Congrats to straight teeth! Perhaps they didn't scrape the cement from underneath the braces off properly. Maybe you can go back and have them take a look at that. :)

You're probably not used to seeing your exposed teeth, like I wasn't. However, you should go to the same dentist that did your braces and ask to get them whitened. If you have a future appointment with him already, just call up and ask if you can get them whitened while you're at it.

they probably aren't big, you just aren't used to seeing your whole teeth. use whitening toothpaste and maybe some white strips or some other bleaching product. don't go overboard - i remember feeling the same way when i got my braces off and eventually they'll be normal.

Mine were big too when I got them off. Still are. I'm not sure about the yellow part. Maybe it means you need to brush more often.
