I think the WBC is the most coveted of the 4. The IBF, the least of the 4, as their organization has become a joke in the last few years. Dan Rafael commented about a year ago, on Ricky Hatton's trouble with the IBF, and winning the IBF version of the World title, "You want to make a deal with the devil? You've got to know what to expect." The WBA appeared to be going that way as well. At one point earlier this year, they had one Cruiser champ, and somehow had 2 interim champs. Fortunately, I believe that has been resolved, and that they only have the one belt holder at Cruiser in full champ David Haye.

It depends on the weight division, but the WBC, WBA and IBF (and some people now say WBO) are the main boxing organizations.
Weight classes also vary, but the main ones would be (in order of weight): flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight, heavyweight.
As for the 'best-ever', every expert will give you a different list.

Right now there are 17 weight classes. The best 3 weight classes right now are Light Heavyweight, Welterweight, and Junior Lightweight.
Super Flyweight- Manny Paquiou
Welterweight - Floyd Mayweather
Light Heavyweight - Bernard Hopkins
As for a list of best ever divisions, I would list.
Welterweight - Ray Robinson
Middleweight - Marvin Hagler
Lightweight - Roberto Duran
Heavyweight - Muhammad Ali

Heavyweight, Middleweight, Welterweight and Lightweight were the original. The WBC belt like the other poster stated is the most coveted and oldest. As to the best in every division well thats up to speculation.

of the "WBC WBO WBA IBF" titles etc in terms of championship status the ultimate is that of the "undisputed champion"-an amalgamation of all the main boxing titles. (the holder of the WBC belt challenges and beats the holder of the IBF/WBA titles for example and takes these titles as well as his own)-this can apply to any weight category.
