There are numerous sources that state the world as we know it will end (or change drastically) on December 21st, 2012. Apparently, the axis of the world will shift, and the environment will react to those changes violently, causing destruction on a global level.
I saw a documentary on TV a while back that analyzed the information in the Mayan Calendar, and scientists found that it was indeed accurate to events that have occurred in the past. (fyi: the Mayan Calender gives the December 21st, 2012 date).

the unmistakeable sign that you are getting near the end is the rebirth of israel as a nation. this happened in 1948. the people born then will see the return of jesus, they're now like 60.
next is the 7 year covenant between israel and certain nations. this could be the european neighborhood policy, which ticks all the right boxes. i don't know for sure, but if it is then this would put the end date in 2013 on the day jews celebrate the feast of trumpets. we find out for sure at the 1/2 way point with an event called the abomination of desolation when the antichrist is revealed and great tribulation begins.
that's the simple version. you 'll find bible prophecy to accurately describe todays world - if you can understand it. here's another event slated for the near future. damascus will be reduced to ruin. when you see this, know that it is part of god's sovereign plan, as is all history. then you'll know it's time to reject agnosticism and accept the lord god and his messiah.
god bless.

The ends for all of us when we died. When is quite unknown. Now on the other hand we as a people can make our world very dangerous to live in. We are the polluters which can help the world a hard place to live in. There are some who say that a nucleur could and would probably kill our world, but I don't believe that we would all die. Some will live having some knowledge of the survival insicting. I don't believe that the world would end soon, but I do believe that many things can help in its ending. Another thing I believe in is that Mars can and will probably become our second earth. What we learn here the distruction of earth will be the making of Mars. All the smog and pollution produce here will also make Mars landscape melt and the productive of us to live on. This is only my OPINION.
GOOD LUCK

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Matthew 24:14.
As the rays of the sun penetrate to the remotest corners of the globe, so God designs that the light of the gospel shall extend to every soul upon the earth. . . . At this time, when the enemy is working as never before to engross the minds of men and women, we should be laboring with increasing activity. Diligently, disinterestedly, we are to proclaim the last message of mercy in the cities--in the highways and byways. All classes are to be reached. As we labor we shall meet with different nationalities. None are to be passed by unwarned. The Lord Jesus was the gift of God to the entire world-- not to the higher classes alone, and not to one nationality, to the exclusion of others. His saving grace encircles the world. Whosoever will, may drink of the water of life. A world is waiting to hear the message of present truth. . . .

It will come like a thief in the night
We, as a whole, will not expect it.
That is not to say, 1 whacko everyday will say "this is the day" BUT overall, society will not expect it.
I do not believe in the Baptist "Rapture" where believers will be taken away.
I think God will arrive in a way that will be both specatular and IMPOSSIBLE to disregard or not believe in. He will appear in a way so that EVERYONE simultaneously will KNOW he has come. Believer and non-believer
It will not be like with Jesus where some will think he is only a man. OR in a way that people will think is "special effects" or a "natural phenomenon"
I think that EVERY generation thinks it's the last. We always think "things can't get any worse, God has to be near" -- There have been times in the world where things have been just as bad or worse then they are now.
I, personally, don't think it will be soon...but that's just my opinion.

Jesus clearly said that only the Father knows, we do not.
The most gnostic book in the Bible is Revelations.
Gnosticism implies that there is secret knowledge for a few.
This book was almost not included, because of that.

Yes. It's all in Revelations.
Soon. Jesus said 2000 years ago soon. Only the Father knows. But there are blueprints for the 3rd temple - there have been for a few years. It could be in ten years - maybe 100. We don't know. But it will happen soon.

I don't know when it will end and how, but I don't think we should get troubled with that. We should focus on keeping the planet in good shape, but just knowing how and when will get us panicked and we will all go crazy with trying to fix things, then it turns out there really are aliens, but all the sudden britney had another baby, and there goes World War III

I don't have an opinion, but the Bible says that the world will end when the "time of the Gentiles" is ended.
The Temple of the Jews will be reestablished on the Temple Mount, and a one-world government will be on the scene.
When will all this happen? I have no idea.
