I've had that happen during an anxiety attack. Then for days after, my back and neck felt like I had rolled out of the back of a truck. It's because during the anxiety attack, the body tenses up. I was also on my way to the beach for a relaxing day. Nothing was stressing me out, but it still happened. I also panicked and went to my doctor. It is scarey when it happens. I felt very dizzy and like I was going to black out at any moment. My heart was racing, and at one point I thought my heart would pound out of my chest. I had to pull over and catch my breath.
If you continue to have problems don't hesitate to go to the doc and have more tests done. But I think you may have had an anxiety attack.
Good luck and feel better.

People Panic for many reasons! I parked my car in a multistory car park, went off shopping came back, used the stairs and as soon as I hit the level where my car was, all Hades broke out! My breathing was fast, my heart pounding in my head, was shaking, managed to drive to my Doc who was in a Panic. The reason, it was a hot summer day, no breeze and the multistory car park full of toxic fumes, which I had inhaled. That triggered the breathing problem, low oxygen level which started the heart racing and I went into panic. This was my first panic attack and it unnerved me, as I was thinking panic, I do not panic, am not the type of person too panic, but the situation I was in, was not of my doing, out of my control and I am positive if a sign screamed Toxic Fumes, I would not have walked into it. No I do not think it is in your head, I think you encountered something, a trigger and that induced the anxiety. However now you are trying to figure out what the trigger was, going over and over about what you did in your mind, looking for the answer. Chances are you will not find it, so best just to realize the trigger is unknown and let it go. Then you will start to recover. I was lucky, my Doc knew about the conditions I found myself in, so had the trigger. Good Luck
