ATHEIST PARANOIA
Joshua S. Black, when addressing an atheist said, "For people who don't believe in God, you guys sure are paranoid about something!!" How true that is. I have known many atheists, and I have found them to be totally committed to their negative cause. They are zealots, fanatics--who are serious, angry, hateful, and blasphemous towards something they don't believe in. And what's more, they spend their time gathering fuel for the fire of their hatred for God and those that love Him. They gather what they think is legitimate fuel, whether it is atrocities committed by hypocritical religions of history, or the horrors of the Inquisition (the Catholic church torturing Christians for their faith in Jesus). They even gather unintelligent and unscientific material. It qualifies for use because it fits their presuppositions. Any fuel will do, as long at it puts smoke between them and the God they hate "without cause." It was Jonathon Miller who said, "In some awful, strange, paradoxical way, atheists tend to take religion more seriously than the practitioners." So, what is this "something" about which they are so paranoid? It is the same "something" that makes criminals paranoid, and it is that paranoia that fuels criminals to have a deep-rooted hatred for the police. It's not the individual officer they hate; it's what he stands for--civil law. And that's the root of the hatred that the atheist has for God and for those that represent Him. Once again, the Bible has said this all along. It hits the nail on its big and hard head: Romans 8:7: ". . . because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot" (Amplified Bible). They hate the morality that God's Law demands. That's the fuel for their hostility.

Nobody really know for sure how many atheists on this planet.
The media claimed only 7% of the USA population are atheists but where did they get this number?
The strange thing is when people talked about God and religion, most people seem puzzled? If so many seem so puzzled then maybe the number of atheists are actually much higher than 7%.
Maybe we might have at least 40% atheists now. I think maybe they should take a census to find out for sure.
Example the media also claimed 90% of all humans believe in God or Gods but then if you take the population of China alone, most are atheists so if you subtract 1 billion people from the population being atheists then how do you come up with the 90% believers on this planet?
Either the media is lying or trying to lie to readers.
Bottomline is can humans see or read that religions are human creations so are the God or Gods within these religions and superstitions? I think they should be able to but somehow don't want to accept religion and Gods are fictions.

This is such a common question and it's amazing to me that it's even asked. My response to the believers is:
You should be glad that Atheists are on here.
Do you not have compassion in your heart? Do you not believe that their very souls are in danger of forever being burned in hellfire? Well, this is your chance to be a good believer and reach out; or are you only concerned with preaching to the choir?
I believe that you are on here for the best of reasons - you love your faith and believe it will save you and others.
Haven't you ever really wondered why Atheists are on here as well?
They, like you, believe there is probably no more important question in the world than "Is there a God?"
So why would you be upset if they were just trying to test themselves to see if there really is a good reason to believe? You should be glad (unless you are happy with the thought of souls burning in hell, which I believe you are not.)
But Atheists have good intentions as well (even though they may not always show it). Imagine for a moment that they are right and there is no God...
Then religious wars, scaring children with threats of hell, and persecution of homosexuals were all just a shameful waste. Moreover, look at the atrocities caused by the beliefs of groups like the Catholic church that teaches AIDS ridden areas of Africa and the Americas that condom use is a sin. They are (at least partly) responsible for the loss of innocent life. Believers spend more time worshiping their imaginary friend then they do caring about real issues like alleviating poverty, or doing something about the great problems this planet faces. With that in mind, the best thing atheists could be doing is trying to introduce people to a logical way of thinking and overcome their superstitions.
Also, consider what you asking this question really says... if you are worried about people who question your belief system, maybe you are not all that secure in your beliefs. If your beliefs are logical, then answer their questions; it shouldn't be an issue.
Ultimately, what matters is who is right (if any of us), and how do we know that.

Oh, golly! Gee whiz!! (rolls eyes)
shrug If the Christians did not post so many questions to the atheists on this site? HMMM.
Well, I wonder, if, like, like maybe, well, mmmm. Well you see, if y'all didn't ask so many questions to the atheists, they probably wouldn't be here

Except for one thing!
If the right wing fundies, kept their nose out of politics? and didn't keep pushing the laws that regulate religion into schools,(something I don't appreciate, either!) then they could be about their own business.
But until that happens, I guess they will be minding ours!!

Because most of us haven't come out of the closet yet being afraid of witch hunts by fanatics not unlike yourself and tend to keep a low profile . Or as Robert Heinlein put it " when the locals rub blue mud in their bellybuttons it is best to rub blue mud in yours just as solemnly " . Also most " Christians " here tend to doubt except for the occasional psychotic who's rants you see posted as questions or answers . as to why we come it is to rationally discuss our belief there is no supreme being looking at mortality and seeing what we do believe { sometimes referred to as spirituality } . Why are you so defensive do our beliefs make that much sense to you ?

I think that there a probably a LOT more closet atheists and agnostics than five percent, but given the hostile attitude of many theists toward non-believers they choose to (at least publicly) keep their non-beliefs to themselves.

I personally think that number is way off. There are a lot more atheist then not. Or perhaps it would be fair to say there are a lot of agnostics, they just have no idea there is a name for it.
Polls are tricky. How do they phrase the question? Who do they ask? What the demographics?

Maybe Christians are reading the bible instead of sitting on the computer. After all, atheists don't have a holy book of their own.
