What would the world be NOW if Europe did not exist?
Europe have learned a great deal with the two World Wars and is the only Continent capable of guaranteeing world security through the use of WISE Diplomacy.
Europe is like a wise parent restraining the impetuous child (USA).

First off if not for the United States there would be no "Free Europe, so get your facts straight!

Is yours a question or a statement?

Since when did Europe become a country that can guarantee anything? Jacques Cirac did a lot for diplomacy.

Wait, that's right France is a great diplomatic wonderment, just ask any Parisian!

I believe that we (United States) use too much diplomacy, and abide by too many rules that outside us, England, Canada, Israel, Australia, etc no one cares to abide by, and then uses those same rules to criticize us.

The likes of the Clintons, Obama, Kennedy's would use way too much talk and cost the lives of citizens within the aforementioned Democratic states due to their "diplomacy" - peace through strength - how many pacified great nations have ever existed?

If you live a life of freedom, thank a U.S. Veteran not a politician!

I find your opinion a little obnoxious and your knowledge a bit limited.

Following 9/11, diplomacy was not a strong suite of the Bush administration. The president, like many Americans sought revenge. Certainly, the world could have done without the war in Iraq. I wonder if the world is any better off today, had this war never happened.
Diplomacy has taken center stage as of late, in the Bush White House. Condi Rice is on the road 24/7, so it seems, trying to dissuade or encourage one country or another to alternate paths of least hostility.

Diplomacy is keeping the Turks from a full invasion of the Kurds, India from Pakistan, Israel from Hamas, Iran from Iraq, all this is spearheaded by the White House.

I know of no other country in the world, with so much on their plate, than the US government.

You seem to believe that Europe with it's do nothing approach is the path to world security. Where, pray tell, are these ambassadors you talk about. These European diplomats through the use of Wise diplomacy, who are they helping to contain? NATO can't even get these slugs to muster up a reasonable army to fight the Taliban, I don't call that wisdom, I call that cowardice !

I opine that Our Diplomacy and Force are well balanced. Sometimes Diplomacy works, Cuba, 62, sometimes no, in other situations.

I feel we can only go so far in diplomacy. Giving up too many things like alot of these countries in Europe have done, I think I would rather. I say use diplomacy when you can and do not hesitate to take care of business when and if the time comes to do so.

True, alot of our fellow Americans can trace their roots to Europe, but we are nobodies "impetuous child" That hasn't happened since we fought for our freedom from England.

Diplomacy takes two to tango, if either partner does not want to dance then it is a useless maneuver. First, all diplomatic measures must be taken to solve the problem, but if this persists and cannot be solved, then "big stick" diplomacy should prevail. If you are dealing with people like the dude in Iran, show the big stick will be the only thing he will ever understand. They are waisting time and money with him, diplomacy will never work there. It did not work with Hitler, or Russia either. Diplomacy seems to be working somewhat with Kim Jong ill, so far, but, I would wait and see if he falters along the line somewhere, he always has.

Considering the world is under a Pax Americana or American Peace right now and most of our $13.13 trillion GDP was gotten through peace, I think we are by far one the best at diplomacy. I guess the whole saving Europe twice from Germany, saving europe after world war 2 with the marshall plan, saving Europe from the Soviet Union, causing the Soviet Union to collapse without a single bombing of Moscow, and tolerating 10 years of Saddam Hussein's inability to cooperate with the UN accounts for nothing.

It is kinda of insulting for you to say this about America when our country was built on the back of foreigners from Europe and Africa and the European military might over the Native Americans at the time. It is also insulting that in the world wars when America was trying to stay neutral we were still looked upon as bad because we didn't pick aside at the beginning. No matter what America does we will always be look at as bad in some way but not too bad to the illegals who sneak in everyday.

I would say Europe learned Jack and Sh*t. They tried appeasment, what did that get them? If Europe ran the show, we would have nuts all over the planet doing crazy stuff, like making nukes, blowing up whom ever they feel like, invading neighbors, and on, because they will try to talk the problem to death, instead of "spanking" the crap out of them and telling them that is bad, we don't do that in this world.

We mainly do use diplomacy. We throw the Military card out their when needed, and play it if we have to.
Nations Attacked since 9-11
Afghanistan
Iraq
Nations we have serious issues with, still using diplomacy
North Korea
Iran
Syria
Sudan
Liberia
Venezuala
China
Lybia
Rwanda
Serbia
Cuba

Thats not true,
We have had to save Europe from both world wars if it wasn't for the US than most of Europe would be Germany because they took over most of the continent , we had to go in and save them.

What are you smoking? We bailed Europe's butt out twice in world wars which proves that they can't guarantee sh*t. Plus, you CANNOT negotiate with terrorists. Neville Chamberlain did a great job being diplomatic with Hitler, huh? Where have you been? What we really need is a President like General George Patton. Kick ass and take names!

We were so diplomatic before WWII that England almost became Germany's western most state. We jacked with Saddam for 13 years. What do you consider a good amount of diplomacy?
