Not if you are smart about it. Excessive anything will damage your body permanently. Don't believe me? Go talk to a homeless person and ask them how they came to be homeless.

If they are honest, you will hear about the same answer everytime. I did something in excess and lost my mental and physical health and then lost my ability to work and pay rent.

Just be smart about it. Ask your school coach or go see a personal trainer.

Hey when you reach age 16 it is finally safe to start working out. At age 16 the cartilidge on your bones is finally hard enough for training. Your muscles are able do grow and what not, but your bones just will not be ready. If you wanna stay at 5 foot 8 the rest of your life then go ahead and train. Because training at a young age will stunt your growth.

Yeah it's a myth, but don't go to extreme with working out.

You can build muscle mass without having squat 500 pounds.

As a kid, I would stick to Push-Ups, Sit-Ups, Pull-Ups, and work out with weights between 15-20 pounds.

Hope this helps!

Depends on how young, you are still growing until about 21, but i would say from 14 onwards, it would be ok as long as you carry out your exercises safely.

muscles no, but you don't get defined until puberty (don't have the hormones for that yet)

think it can hurt your tendons, bones, and growth. might want to check with school nurse, fmaily doctor, or even your dad.
