It depends on the wattage of the microwave oven. If I didn't know the wattage, I would start at 30 seconds and then check it. If it still needs a bit more time, I would keep heating it in 10 second intervals.

In a thousand-watt microwave, you'll need to give it about 50 seconds (I'm assuming that you're heating the bun at the same time); it works best if you wrap it in Saran wrap. I do this all the time when I'm at work or if I'm working at home; it's quick, and I don't lose my train of thought while fixing my lunch.

Depends if it's frozen or fresh. Frozen no more than 50 sec while fresh 35 sec., it all depends on how fast your microwave cooks things.
