My landlord brought his dog from China to the US three years ago. This dog bark fiercely everytime I passby the door. It has been three years now. Even the dumbest dog can tell who is stranger.

Most dogs wave their tails and even lick me when I first met them. I don't know what happened to this dog.

Most likely, it is not your fault the dog barks fiercely. It is normal for a dog to bark when someone comes, but if it is a fierce/intense bark that goes on and on, that is bad. The owners probably have not trained their dog very well or given him much exercise, so the dog dominates their house and everyone outside of it. Do not be scared, and do not blame the dog. His owners need to fix this problem, not you.

It could be that the dog is inherently distrustful of strangers and anyone that was not around when they were a puppy is a stranger, some breeds (or specific dogs) can be that way.

It could also be that your neighbor allows him to bark at EVERYONE who passes by the door. In which case, he's not singling you out.

And it is possible that the dog may SOUND fierce, but not actually be threatening you. I own a Shepherd that has no bark other than the one that makes people cringe, even if she's just excited and wanting a Milkbone!

Have you tried asking your neighbor why his dog always barks at you? You might be surprised at the answer... he may tell you that he's just never been able to break the dog of that habit.

Because the dog is acting as he should. My dogs bark at me sometimes when I walk in but that does not make them dumb. And a fierce back does not mean aggression, he may honestly just want to play.

that's stressful. yet i could say you will likely only could desire to smile and undergo it. I hate it while any of my buddies' canines start to bark or howl, using fact it generally instruments off another dogs contained locally. And which potential a minimum of 30 minutes of unbridled racket. Come to think of of it, am i able to borrow your gun as quickly as you have dealt with the difficulty?

I agree with a couple of the other repsonses. The dog is acting territorial, which is a sign of an under-excercised and excited or dominant dog (all of which are not good). I'm sure the dog would act friendly face-to-face, but yes, it is up to the owner to train the dog to be calm and respectful.

My dogs bark every time I come home.. it doesn't mean they don't know who I am.. they are not happy at me for leaving.

Your neighbors dog is guarding it's territory.. We have one neighbor that is great with our dogs.. they talk to them calmly.. every once in awhile they give them treats.. the other side neighbor is the opposite.. they bark.. the woman SHRIEKS at them.. making them bark even more.. (and making them angry) ..

Just try to be calm.. you can talk to it if you wish.. it may never get any better.. but you can't tell unless you try..

Well - he is barking at you cuz you are passing by. This is NORMAL dog behavior. If the door was open & he was able to come to you - he would act friendly as usual.
Dogs LOVE to bark at stuff that passes by.
I have Collies & they bark at everything they see - but they wouldn't hurt a fly.

Are you referring to this dog as dumb because he barks when you walk by?? Sounds like he is doing exactly what he is supposed to do. I would want my dog to bark when people walk by...

Some dogs are just protective over their territory. We have a couple like that and ours probably would bite if someone came into their territory.
