If you're referring to the Abrahamic God - then my answer is no. A God whose word requires sugarcoating, ''logical'' explanation and apologetic attitude is not worth my attention.

Worshipping any God is pointless - and the same for worshipping anything at all.
And even if God existed - still, worshipping would be pointless.
Only a unevolved race would bow down and worship a God, etc.

Anyone with any intelligence will probably feel this way also.

I don't equate worshipping, to be the same as showing respect to, etc etc.
Worship is worship...

The points against God - is that it is illogical and silly for God to have existed at all. And the logical explanation, is that it was not God in the first place - that is spoken of, in the Bible and other holy texts, etc. But an imposter. Who only wanted worshipping as a God, to have the power and control.
And that the concept of God changed several times since...

If there was real empirical evidence proving the existence of god than I would have to believe it was real. However, simply proving the existence of a diety does not prove or show anything about it's characteristics... Simply b/c a god was proven doesn't mean it is the Christian god with the characteristics they impose upon it, or any other god. I don't think I would worship any god unless I know what said "god" was like. If it was hateful and vengeful like the Christian god, I would not worship.. And if it was not, than I probably would not be forced to worship anyway b/c the god would be more loving and humane.

It it were proved that God existed, then I certainly would acknowledge that fact.

Worshiping, however, is something else. I do not do the worship thing well, anyway; and I would not think much of a supreme being that demanded worship (acknowledging a God's existence does not mean you have to like the guy).

Don't report, it isn't nice. Christians have a right to answer this question, too, as you have posted it on an open forum.

I'm an atheist. I guess it would depend on the nature of God when deciding whether or not to worship him. If it was some kind of cool, new-age, cosmic-consciousness god, okay. If it's literally the God of the Bible, no way. Have you read the Bible? His actions are so arbitrary and cruel. What a jerk.

There's no great likelihood of the OT Jehovah being a real figure. He is the epitome of a sadistic tribal deity that Genghis Khan would have admired. The only other possibility is that he would be a remote being completely disinterested in humankind. It's unlikely that such a being would even want primitive worship from humans. Therefore, I would say it's a moot point.

If god did exist, I would definitely believe. I don't know if I would worship, unless I knew more about the situation. For example, if the god that existed was the Old Testament God, I don't think I would worship him unless he gave me a good explanation for all the murder and genocide.

That would depend. I would not change the way I live my life, as I am already a very moral person. I would certainly change my beliefs and views of the world, but I probably would not worship this god unless there were some dire consequence for noy doing so. Aside from that, there would be very little I would change.

You can't report people for answering your question if it's not the people you directed the question to.

YA is an open forum, anyone can answer questions.

All you'll do by reporting people like that is create your own status on YA to be "unreliable" by their standards, and your reporting won't have any value.

Just a little heads-up info for you there.

P.S. I did find your question interesting, so I asked my mother, who is an athiest from the time she was a teenager (she is now in her 60s).
Her answer is:

IF (and that's a big IF) someone could prove to her beyond a doubt that God existed, she might worship him. BUT only after this God was able to explain to her satisfaction why she SHOULD worship him, considering all the pain, suffering, and evil in the world that she thinks a real God would be able to get rid of or not allow in the first place. "Who needs a God that allows such things in the first place!" is her actual words there.

Hope that helps.

Me Atheist
If there was a God i would like to know what it/he/she is and wants. And if 'worship' of some sorts was deserved/warranted... then no problem. Of course this God could never ever be any of the monotheistic types, because the reality of the world contradicts their God.

"If"......"still". That makes no sense.
My answer is this, if God came to me I would not recognize it as God. That's how much of a heathen I am. I would believe that I am going through a medical breakdown and would proceed to the doctor accordingly. Should I be so touched in the head that I can not recognize it. My husband will get me the attention and medication I need. And stand by me until I get better. I would do the same for him.
Peace.
