You know the double yellow line in the middle of the road? You know how it curves in and goes back out right before a left turn lane? I went straight over it and got a ticket for driving on the wrong side of the road. This was on a little one lane road. I went to traffic school and everyone laughed at it...even the teacher.

I had to go to court with my parents because I was still a minor.

Considering I've seen people driving with a 3" round clear spot on their windshields as their only view of the roadway, I don't think the ticket is out of line. Spend the time to clean off your windows, it is safer.

Be grateful, here in Ontario, it would be $110

State law is state law, If you drive with view obstructed, then its a violation, and a citation would be given, just like in your case. The citation could be contested by taking it to court. It is not saying you are guilty, its just a promise to contact the court on/before the date on the citation.
