What really gets me is most of them say they are smart yet they lack maturity.

I mean im just posting a question because im wondering if i can depend on an answer from someone that is an atheists if most atheists are immature on most sites.

Are most of them young adults/kids.

They may be immature - or the question is not important to them - - it may even be a silly question. Such requires a silly answer.
Or you simply misunderstand their reply.

I can't give you an answer, because I don't know why you think they are childish and immature. Can you supply us with a specific example? For all I know, perhaps their answers were reasonable, but they angered you because they didn't fit your belief system, and so you perceived the answerer as being immature. I'm not saying that's necessarily the case, I just want to know why I should accept your judgment that most atheists are immature without giving any reasons.

Re: "Most of them are young adults/ kids:" I doubt that. Perhaps you didn't look hard enough. But assuming you are correct, there could be hidden variables -- young people spend more time and money on cameras for their computer, they don't have a career to jeopardize by advertising their atheism, or older people have coped with their atheism for years while it's still new and exciting for young people.

Your logic is failing you. The right answer can come from an immature person. Sorry to disillusion you, but emotional maturity is not necessarily a sign that someone's intellectual judgments are better. My grandpa was a responsible man, but he never got past the eighth grade. If I had to choose between my grandpa or a tenth-grade immature jerk as an algebra tutor, I'd take the kid. See my point? Unfortunately, there are a lot of smart, childish jerks out there.

Dear, if you are going to post a question trying to demean groups of people and act like a chauvinistic pig, try learning English first and try to not make yourself fit the stereotype you're giving. You are being rude, immature, and stupid by asking this question. You're stereotyping based on nothing. You should not stereotype people on their religion or age or anything else.
Anyone can be immature, not just Atheists or little kids. I'm 15 but that doesn't mean I go around giving people immature answers to important questions. I actually think through and give them logical and helpful advice. Stereotyping is NOT going to get you anywhere in life.

I have no idea where you're basing this on but I'm going through questions on this site everyday and I have not come across an Atheist's or child's reply that was immature or lacking intelligence. To be frank with you the only stupid answers I can find are answers to stupid questions such as "Is this girl hot?" or "Is masturbation a sin?" And even there, they don't go, "She has a nice ***. By the way, I'm a child and an Atheist so stereotype me." How would you know the age and religion of these answerers? You don't. For all you know, they can be in their 40's and a Christian.

Maybe you're saying that because someone's answer to one of your questions didn't fit what you wanted them to say. I'm sorry to break it to you, dear, but when you seek advice, you're going to get answers you're not going to like because advice does not mean sugar coated answers.

By the way, the message you sent me was cute but you just demeaned yourself:

Subject: You are to young to answer

Message: All Teenagers have no morals.

Shut up

1. Learn your English.
2. The 7 year old kid that I babysit for would say that.
3. You have no morals.
4. I'm 15 and Yahoo! clearly states that anyone 13 and up can use Answers feature.

A little tip for you: if you're going to send messages like that to anyone in the future, try and spell things correctly, know when you capitalize, and punctuate. Because in the end, you'll make yourself seem stupid. Why not go down as being stupid with correct grammar?

My logic tells me to listen to the mature crowd, too, that knows their grammar, uses logic, and is not rude. Let's see where you get in life with that kind of thinking.

It's funny that you should mention that, because I was just thinking today about how immature I find the vast majority of Christian answers to be. I see those who have the audacity to think through a philosophy as intelligent, and the lack of a need to provide every single reason as to why they hold a particular belief only furthers this assessment. What may appear to you to be sarcastic or immature, appears to me as an outlet of self confidence, security of theory, and therefore no need to "prove" religion or lack thereof. It's ultimately all theory, to those of us with evidence and to others who only house a will to sharply slander, "You're going to hell!" When someone wants to discuss with me, I gladly discuss. But, I don't need reassurance, and so most of the time am not going to waste time battling ridiculous propositions with thought-out answers.

And I'm sixteen, but that really has nothing to do with it.

Maturity does not necessarily come with age...some people think that by being belligerent and rude they can somehow come across as being correct because they are "righteous" or something, even though they don't have any arguments to back themselves up with...

Its going to be the case with any forum, especially online, and the best thing you can do is to simply filter through the BS yourslef and find the thoughtful, intelligent replies to work with

I used to get shocked until I looked at the ages of many of the users..under 17's are not known for great wisdom. Many are immature but that is what they should be. Time comes fast enough for us all. Just enjoy the humour and directness they bring.

It depends on your definition of immaturity.

If someone asks why I DON'T believe in God, and I answer with the truth, which is that I just don't believe in invisible spirit gods just like they don't believe in Santa or the tooth fairy,

is this immature?

If the question is mature, they will get a mature answer. As to the rest. There are some in every group.

Can you give an example?

I strongly suspect that you're looking at either perfectly good answers that you don't understand and/or accept, or you're looking at our responses to the umpteenth inane posting of the same stupid question.

If you look at this forum with open eyes you'll clearly see that it is the believers - mostly the Christians - who demonstrate the least maturity here, and the atheists are in fact responsible for essentially ALL of the adult behavior here.

Frankly, your own question isn't exactly mature either.

compliment a stupid question with a stupid answer, or an answer that is needed, even if it happens to be an insult, some ppl need a good kick in the pants
