Of course petestrians have the right of way, but they could be dead right too. They have to exercise caution at all times when so many vehicles are backing out or in. She shouldn't have displayed her IQ to you though! She must have been a moron to have an IQ of 1! Anyway, I am glad you survived the adventure or misadventure at Wally World!

All you pinheads who think pedestrians have the right of way all the time are wrong. You were hit by a car because you insisted on it, though, weren't you. Here's a cut and paste from the California Vehicle Code: "21954. (a) Every pedestrian upon a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway so near as to constitute an immediate hazard. (b) The provisions of this section shall not relieve the driver of a vehicle from the duty to exercise due care for the safety of any pedestrian upon a roadway." Although you may have been in the right, you and all your pedestrian friends need to watch out and protect yourselves. Is "Here lies Frank G. He had the right of way" what you want on your headstone?

She's just an idiot. There's lots of them at Walmart today...you and I must shop at the same one...I was backing out and I looked, no one was there. I put it in reverse and turned my head just for a split second and out of no where a pedestrian carrying a child walked right behind me. I slammed on my breaks and the guy just kept walking like nothing ever happened. The man putting stuff in his car next to me said something to the guy carrying the kid and I didn't hear what it was, but then they both looked at me and started laughing. Whats so funny? I don't get it.

The last time I checked pedestrians do have the right away no matter what. She should have looked to see but apparently she didn't. Also maybe you could have gotten out of the way. To really piss her off you should have moved your cart next to the back of her car so she would have no choice but to get out and move it. LOL...This is why I park in the way back when I go to stores like Walmart or Target...you never know the kind of idiots you have to deal with.

The car and its driver are supposed to be aware of all pedestrians including parking lots but I've noticed that people just seem to get in and drive. I have back up alarms that will tell me if someone has popped up suddenly but I look to make sure no one is around including another vehicle backing out of a space behind me just to be sure. That is just responsible driving. Don't take anything or anyone for granted however and protect your space. You did just that so who cares if she was an idiot. If she kills someone, she will go to jail not you.

What is the world coming to when old lady's flip people off? But the pedestrians always has the right of way. She most likely wasn't on her med's and had to go home to get them. But yes you should have move if you seen her. What would it have hurt? We should all watch out for each other. That will be you one day.

pedestrians have the right of way all the time anywhere.
Wallmartin' folks are just rude that way sometimes. Perhaps she used all the $$$ on her Christmas gift card and she was annoyed and taking it out on the next person she saw in the parkin' lot
I always wear a little slow movin' vehicle sign on my behind and a red flag.

You were in the right....cars are big dangerous things that can easily kill people. So drivers have the responsibility to look out for pedestrians at all times. Especially in the parking lot!
She was very rude to you.

Pedestrians seem to have no rights in parking lots, except, perhaps to keep their eyes open and pray.
