It may and it may not. Sometimes they manage to pass things that seem impossible and sometimes the tiniest things get stuck. Call your vet and see what they recommend and also ask for signs of obstruction.
I wouldn't leave the dog alone until you know it has either passed or there are signs that the dog needs to go to the vet.
They can go from just fine to bad rather quickly so keep a close eye on him.

Don't take a chance and wait for it to emerge on its own, it could do terrible damage whilst its working its way through his / her intestines and guts. Ring your vet or the RSPCA for advice, they'll tell you what to do for the best. Hope everything goes ok.

I wouldn't give him mineral oil that might make him more ill. As long as you don't think it's caught anywhere in his throat he'll probably poop it out. If he seems sick like he may vomit it could be stuck and you would worry about his breathing is all. Try not to worry but if you are call your vet. Feed and give him water as usually as long as he seems fine he'll probably poop it.
