Ok, I love these answers, but I ALSO asked if YOU were in HIS SHOES, in any given situation and YOU knew you were up next, how would you feel? Would you fo forward and do your duty?

Yes.
Yahoo News had the piece. He is aware of his family responsibility and the cost. Although she had said she
hope a better path for her children he is the obvious successor. Despite his age, he is a part of the blood line.
Her widower would have trouble runningafter 11 yrs in jail for alleged corruption. It is a tradition and sadly the boy will be in harms way. Hopefully he will remain protected and follow security advise. However unlikely.

This is starting to remind me of the Gandhi family in India. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated and years later her son, also prime minister, was assassinated.
It also reminds me of Ninoy Aquino in the Philippines. He was an opposition leader who returned to that country and was assassinated literally the moment he stepped off the plane. His wife took over for her late husband as leader of the opposition movement and eventually became president.

Her son is too young. A logical successor at this time might be her husband, except that he may have been on their Supreme Court.

Yes and I'm sure he is all too aware of the dangers of this highly volatile political situation. We are so used to being "free" in the U.S. that we just don't understand that much of the world does not live with the relative peacefulness we have in the U.S. In many countries around the world people live (daily) with armored tanks on the streets, police or military in flak jackets carrying machine guns or submachine guns.... It's not uncommon in many countries to see barb wire fences, electrified fences, and broken glass on the top of walls surrounding private homes.. and not just the pricey homes of the "rich'....
If every American could live for a week in an impoverished or 3rd world country or under communist rule we wouldn't have as much dissension as we have. Be thankful you live in the U.S. where you don't have to worry about being "targeted" because of the political situation. That freedom is very precious.

Targeted?
YES!
As Osama said to his fanatical followers....
"Don't support any UNITY party."
His followers will murder ANYONE who would encourage democracy in any form.
