Yep lets all blame Bush and show how wrong opinion can be.
As cold hearted as it sounds we have lost ONLY 4000 troops in Iraq.
Or don't you remember the nay sayers before the war? "We're going to need 100,000 body bags to bring our troops home in"
Sorry but this war was one that had to be fought, and in case you stopped watching the news , we are winning.

Being over here now I can see the positive effects of our work on the Iraqi people even if our reason for being here is not what we are actually doing at this time. Because there was the surge there are many of us troops that are here with no clear mission and question why we are here in the first place. I do agree with hh that their are far more soldiers killed at home then over here. The violence over here is calming down and I feel a little safer. I just wish our fellow comrades in Afghanistan had this many troops over there then over here. Maybe bin laden would have been caught by now then sending more tapes.

LOL Good one! as others have mentioned, Congress gave approval to go to war on the recommendations from the President. But now that these individuals are up for re-election, they are changing their tone to keep their paycheck coming in. You have to look at this, yes 4,000 soilders have died, yet how many americans are safer now? we as a country cant just quit what we start, in the end it wil be safer for the world. Look at it this way, say your parent or you had kids and at a certain age, they decide, you are on your own and we will not help you anymore. What would be your reaction, would you be able to feed yourself, protect yourself from the world, on and on.

We lose more troops BACK HOME due to automobile accidents then in Iraq, EVEN WHEN we were engaged in major combat operations. That fact has been true since 2003.
Currently you have a higher chance of being a homicide victim in downtown Detroit, or Washington D.C. than in Iraq.
CONGRESS, not Bush gave the ok for that operation. Bush has 90 days to play with until Congress has to either approve or disapprove military action.
Stop watching the news and start reading books, preferably textbooks.

I wish they would let me go back to Iraq, but apparently the Army has other plans for me. They seem to think that since i have trouble running now, due to injuries from my last tour, that i can be of no use in Iraq. It will never end over there. Muslims have been fighting for thousands of years, and i dont think we'll end it anytime soon.

I think they should remove the chains of bondage from us over here in Iraq. Open the gates and let loose the dogs of war!!! I would love to turn this entire country into sheet of glass, and it has NOTHING to do with race, religion or creed. I hate he who hates me, nothing more nothing less. Present yourself as an enemy and you get what you deserve.

Its a difficult situation. Our troops fighting terrorist and the Iraqi civilians in the cross fire.
But, the alternative is to have citizens like your self shooting it out with terrorist down at the local mall with American civilians in the cross fire. I don't think a lot of people fully comprehend the seriousness of this fight. We can't just quit and walk away. We either defeat them on their ground our fight them on our own.
Killing terrorist is a dangerous business, they shoot back. I think our soldiers have done a remarkable job.
Wake up and smell the coffee.

I think it's funny everybody blames Bush, but no one makes mention of all the things the Democrats in congress have done or failed to do to help us out over here. Hmmmm, politically minded question here?
