Ft. Bragg, Ft. Campbell and Ft. Stewart were the rapid deployment bases, but since we are at war, that doesn't matter anymore.
When your unit is called to go, you go. It is no longer being on call like before, you are on rotation now.
Before there were units on call to deploy withing 24 hours. The 82nd Airborne, 101st Air Assault, and the 24th ID (Now the 3rd ID) were the primary units for those calls.
The main troop bases today are, Hood, Benning, Stewart, Bragg, Campbell, Drum, Lewis, Carson, Riley, Richardson, Wainwright, and Schofeld Barracks. Those are the main bases where the Combat Brigades are at. In addition there are combat brigades in Germany, Italy, and Korea. In the future Bliss and Sill may join that list.
Sill, Leonard Wood and Bliss have supporting units that deploy, but not Combat Brigades.
Other bases are mostly support centers and have a few deploying units but often have a lot of individual taskings for specialists to deploy with combat brigades.

A Rapid Deployment Station is a duty station that is constantly being deployed. Hood, Campbell, Drum, Vesboden Germany, just to name a few. Hood is home to 1st Cav, Campbell is 101st Airbourne, Drum is 10th Mountain LID, and Vesboden is Armored Cav I think. Don't quote me on Vesboden though.

A rapidly deploying duty station is one that if you are stationed at then you will most likely deploy to iraq or afghanistan sooner or later. What makes it a rapid deployment post is how long it takes the units in the post to be combat ready and to move personnel and equipment to area of operation, in other words they are always at a more ready state and can get to any location worldwide in the shortest period of time. And also you will most likely have more than one deployment tour while there. So u spend 12 - 18 months abroad and then you come back home to spend at least 6 months ( could be more but not guaranteed) and then your unit leaves again. So pretty much some unit from that post will be deployed at all times. And yes the afore mentioned posts are rapid deployment posts.
