Yes, at least one that will conquer the Persian Empire. At the time Alexander did it Persia was the most powerful empire on the earth. So in that sence it shouldn't take an Alexander to get the job done, Persia is no where near the power they were during Alexander's time.

I think we are living in enough interesting times with out an Alexander the Great but I do however think we could use some more Mother Teresa.

The only problem is that if a new Alexander the Great came about, I could easily see the future lie in nuclear war.

During his times, you could fight each other in open war, but even that pales in comparison to a country loaded with nuclear weapons. Especially weapons that can be unloaded in a matter of hours, not months.

Alexander the Great was a military genius, but he basically built his empire on the success of his father, Philip. Also, he was basically a butcher who destroyed Greek democracy. Interesting enough, in subduing the Greek city-states, he ended up killing more Greeks than any other people.
