god made the earth, he made the universe, all within 7 days, 5,000 years ago, and god has been aroud for eternity according to you... so, if gods been around so long, why did he decide all of a sudden to make a bunch of black mailing, war-starting, violent, sex driven, rude creatures out of the blue?

No, I am a Christian. I do not think that the world is only thousands of years old. My guess is God has always been creating, and this universe is only one of millions. God gives us free will. We can be kind and loving or we can be a bunch of black mailing, war-starting, violent, sex driven, rude creatures. It is our choice

Not all Christians believe that the Earth was created in 7 days. There is evidence supporting that "days" is a metaphor since for God "a million years is but a day". He probably made us because he wanted to have things to take care of and love; kinda like how people get pets. He didn't make us "black mailing, war-starting, violent, sex driven, rude creatures". We were perfect but chose to be disobey and that led to our imperfections.

Dear zu
its not as bad as you describe in the last part of your question; there are also some very admirable and honest people around too. Having said that, when you consider the awesome work of creation - if creation it is and I have no doubt - how can it be ever conceivable that anyone's mind can understand the Why of of such a mystery.
May I also suggest to you that there are many Christians that do not necessarily believe that the world was created in, literally, seven days too.

There are many things we will never understand and while we can ask the questions we have to accept the fact that some of our questions may be unanswerable.

Peace

I'm a Christian and I don't agree with the "5000 years ago". And as for evil men, God did not create them evil:

Ec 7:29 "This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes."

Actually, God made the earth in 6 days, He rested on the 7th :)

It's not 5,000 years, it's 6,000 ... and that reference is only from the time Adam and Even left the garden, it does not include time spent there. How long did YOU think they were there? a day? a week? 6 million years?

God did not make us to be as you say, that is our choice. Why do you blast God for making "mindless sheep" as you guys say, then blast Him for giving us a choice? Which one did you want?

Given that the sun, moon,and stars were not created until day 4; day 1, 2, and 3 especially may have been (much) more (total) than 72 hours.

God is a God of love. The mystery of the Trinity reveals that God has always been in a relationship of love, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit sharing their love with each other for all eternity. His creation was an act of love, and his greatest creation was to make creatures that are also capable of love. In order for us to be capable of love, however, we also need to be free to choose either love or hate. It is this freedom that has led to all the terrible things you mentioned, for when we refuse to love we end up doing evil. However without this freedom we could not choose to love each other and ultimately to love God. Our freedom is what gives our humanity its beauty, and its ugliness. We must choose to love.

I am sorry but people who based their faith in logic is not Christianity.

GOD(Elohim) said and by FAITH we true-believers in Jesus Christ accepted it through reading the pages of the Scriptures.

You can read Genesis to find out how men choose to do evil.

1 Timothy 1

4Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

5Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

6From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

7Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

8But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

9Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

10For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

"a bunch of black mailing, war-starting, violent, sex driven, rude creatures out of the blue..."

Is that your proof for evolution?
