I understand what youre asking. This is not a debate question on whether or not Catholics are Christian. The Catholic church has very definintive rules as to who can get married there and the participants state of grace as well as demoninational standing. Most any protestant churches will marry you as long as you are both Christian; sometimes even that isnt always neccesary. You will find the non-catholic route much easier in terms of time, effort and hopefully total experience. Have your fiance ask his pastor or family for a referral. Gods peace to you!

You mean that your fiance is Protestant, but you are Catholic.

Catholic is Christian.

By the way, the two of you can get permission to get married in the Catholic Church if neither of you have been validly married before this and if he is willing to go through pre-marriage counseling and if he promises to raise the kids in the Catholic faith.

But you might have conflict in your marriage if your fiance is against Catholicism. Even if he seems to be ok with it now, he could change his mind and be against it later.

Unless he seems like he might be interested in converting to Catholicism, you would probably do better to marry a Catholic man.

By the way, I think that you need to learn more about your own faith before you think about marrying someone of another faith. It would be a good idea for you to study the Catechism of the Catholic Church. You can find it on Amazon or at a Catholic book store. I would also recommend any book by Dr. Scott Hahn.

Honey, First off Catholics are Christians, and Yes You can get married in a Catholic Church to a Protestant Husband You have to promise to raise the Children Catholic, You are old enough to get married, but you know so little of your Faith. Please do talk to your Priest and get more information, don't assume the "Church Rules" are holding you Back

If you want to get married in a church of Rome establishment they will marry you unless one is divorced. Your fiance may well be asked to take classes in the faith but he does not have to become a member of the Church of Rome> My mother-in-law went through this in the 1940's so it is nothing new. Talk to the priest

It depends on how orthodox his church is. Most protestant churches will allow just about anyone to marry in them as long as you pay the proper fees and possibly go through counseling that some preachers and ministers require. Call the churches you want to hold the ceremony at and ask them what they require.

Peace,
Jenn

Anyone can get married in a christian church, but only Catholics can get married in a Catholic church....

I was baptized, communed and confirmed Catholic, but I switched to lutheran. less rules and a lot less politics...

What my wife and I did was, we went to Lake Tahoe and got married in front of God... Didn't have a building just nature it's self....

You can get married in the Church! He has to agree to raise any children Catholic, you both have to have pre-marital counseling, but you can. And PLEASE don't let anyone tell you that Catholics aren't Christian.
