Ok...you do not "need" a belly button ring. If this is your reasononing when you talk with your parents, then it is no wonder they refuse to give you permission.

thirteen? ok im thirteen also and even im not so crazy about a belly button ring. i think your parents are being pretty reasonable about not letting you get a belly button ring. besides, you probably only want the belly button ring because your friends have it. PEER PRESSURE. the need to be, or at least seem, cool. why is it that people these days are always comparing themselves to other people? why cant you just be happy with how you are? trust me, the things that are "in trend" now probably wont be as "in trend" in, lets say, five years, which is a more reasonable age to be asking for a belly button ring. but since your asking about how to convince your parents to let you get a belly button ring, i'll try to help anyway. when you want something from your parents, or any other adults in general, you should show them that you really want it, youre mature enough, and your responsible enough to handle it.

1. You are 13. You really do not need any piercings, and your parents own you till you are 18. Obey and love them. They probably know whats best for you.
2. Belly button piercings are pretty gross. I know some girls who got them, and they had green puss and stuff for at least a week.
3. I assume you plan on having a baby when you are older. Think about what that piercing will be like all stretched out.
4. Your belly button is where your umbilical cord was. Your umbilical cord connects to all of your major organs. Do you really want an infection around there?

First off little girl- - - - NO ONE NEEDS A BELLY BUTTON ring.... it's just something you THINK you want... and the thing is, your parents have said NO and I doubt there is ANYTHING that can change their minds... and you are not of legal age to just go and have it done on your own... AND, if you just decide to go against your parents and have a FRIEND do it or something you risk infection and possibly even DEATH...... You don't have to wait till you are 30- - - but legally you DO have to wait until you are 18 and if I were you, that is how long I would wait.....don't do something against your parents wishes ESPECIALLY since you still have to live with them for the next 5 YEARS!!!!!

you are a minor and your parents have every right to say no as they should - you are 13! Wait til you are legal age (18) and if you still want to do this, go ahead. you probably will have different take on it by then. and you may think these other girls aren't bad, but that is what people assume when they see a 13 year old do you want people to assume about you too. And i would never let my children or grandchildren do this. I think it should not be allow til 18 or 21 - not even with parent consent!

The most you will have to wait is until your 18. Who knows by then you may not even want it. When I was 16 I decided that I wanted a tramp stamp, fortunately I couldn't afford it because now I think they are tacky. As far as convincing your parents....can't help you there....my mom was always dressing like she was 14 with everything all hanging out, trying to be a MILF so by the time I was 14 she wanted me to get pierced. I did, but no one ever sees it and I really never thought it was that great to begin with.

Well.......I don't think that trying to convince your parents about getting a belly button ring is such a good idea! I mean they are just being parents by telling you no but your still very young and may not understand why. Your parents love you and care for you and think that by getting a belly button ring,it may not seem as a good idea. And besides, there are alot of terrible things that can happen to you,YOU CAN CONTRACT AIDS AND OR EVEN OTHER VERY NASTY DISEASE!I'm just saying.....Maybe you should wait....YOU WILL NOT D I E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carly, when my daughter was 13, I asked her to promise me one thing - to not go weird on me. Weird meaning Gothic or those things young people do that they think are cool. It's all fad's that come and go and some go ok, while others create problems. Like the lower rider jeans the guys like, they will forever have hip problems. You laugh, but it's true, they tend to walk differently than normal to keep the pants up. Kids that do drugs, generally get into some kind of trouble and some die from them.
I do understand how you feel. But you will feel better if you make the decision to respect your parents wishes and not go "weird" on them.
Please consider what I've told you. Your parents are only trying to protect you from something bad happening, isn't that why God put them in charge, instead of you?
Big hug from Minnesota!

I'm 13 also, and I'm not a chick, I think you shouldn't get one until you're about 16-17, then by then you will have almost an adult body, and you could take more if it gets infected or something. Trust me, lots of girls at my school did it, and showed it off to many people and became whores or even worse. So I' just givin' you a lil' tip. Hope this will teach you a lesson. ~~!@Roach@!~~

You don't need it, and you would end up taking it out later when it wasn't cool anymore. Plus, it's expensive. I took out over $200 worth of piercings after about 3 years because I realized that by trying to be different, I was just following what everybody else did.
If you want to be different and rebel, try something else, like a short haircut (grows back), or getting the highest grades in your class.

I hope nobody tells you how to get your parents to let you do that. Your friends who have it may not be whores, but it is slutty.
P.S. Do not use the word whore in such a judgmental way, your 13, hop fully you'll never do that, but you've no right to judge them. especially at your age. If you cant say something nice, say nothing. And that goes for all of you.
