Of course, Boxers are the best ... but I may be prejudiced!
I have always wanted a Bullmastiff as a companion for my Boxers, but they are sooo big. The ones I have known have that same silly, happy-go-lucky personality of a Boxer, but on a much calmer, less bouncy scale.

There is no "best breed" for everyone. It is still important to find a breed that **fits your lifestyle**. A breed that is perfectly suited for one person may be a horrible match for another person.
Here are some things to consider (just the tip of the iceberg!):
- Where do you live, apartment or house? Do you have a fenced in yard?
- Do you want an active breed, or a breed that would loaf around the house of the time?
- Lifespan of the dog. Large dogs live on average 10+ years, and small dogs live on average 15+ years.
- Do you plan to take your dog for activities? If you want a dog to go on 9 mile hikes with you, choose a larger active dog, a small dog won't be able to do that activity.
- Do you or do you plan to have children? Some breeds are notoriously better with or worse with children.
- How much grooming do you want to do? Some dog breeds require professional grooming as well.
- Do you now or plan to own a house in the lifespan of a dog? Many home owners associations or home insurance companies will not allow or insure certain breeds, such as pitbulls, chows, dobermans, etc..

Mixed breeds are great! My mom and stepdad used to have a mixed breed who was part spitz. My boyfriend's mom has a dog who the rescue organization said is chocolate lab-husky mix, but she's been mistaken for a border collie.
But really, it depends on whether you want a dog for protection or companionship, if there are small children in the house or not, if you are able to keep up with a very energetic dog or not, etc.

There’s no best breed, or second best breed, or third best breed, or fiftieth best breed. The “best breed” for a person depends on their living situation, lifestyle, what they want in a dog (and what they don’t want), and at least a dozen other factors. To make claims that one breed is any better than any other breed is 100% insane.
Now, if you were to ask what someone’s “favorite” breed is, that would be much different.

Well since your into boxers im assuming you like the big tough dogs, i do too but i can't afford to feed a great dane. try a german shapard, alaskin malamute, siberian husky, and you'd be surprised to find that rotweiler's are actually very nice dogs

Well..... I don't believe there is a "Best" kind of breed. I think it depends on your lifestyle and what you think is good to look for in a dog.
