please help!? ok, this guy i like, F, is pretty nice, and not that bad looking. about a month ago, he started sitting at my art table (yeah i know this sounds so retarded...). we got talking and stuff, and he has a decent personality! he asked me to go one of his wrestling matches, and to play this video game w/ him, he said we could be the "best team" even tho i told him i suck at video games :P he said he'd teach me. so, i thought maybe he was interested in me. my friend chatted with him online, and she said he said i was pretty and nice. "yay" i thought. then his friend, J, who supposedly used to like me, tells F that he thinks i like F. J says that F says "gross", not to me, but the "idea of me liking him." why would this happen? my friends say that J said that b/c he still likes me. however, the next day, F did not sit at my table in art. guys...what does this mean?! he tells one girl that i'm nice and all, and then "gross" to his friend 3 weeks later.

Guys are really simple to read and superficial. He's trying to seem cool to his friend J and hence tells the guy that the girl is "gross" for paying attention.
However, he paid attention to you and wanted you to play the video game, and to go to the wrestling match and watch him. He wants your attention.
(maybe J wants your attention too)

If you like him, go for it. We like it when you ask us out. Its either you ask or uor freinds make fun of us for liking said girl. But listen up here. Guys like video games and sports most of the time, so try to find somthing in common, and also, the video game thing is a move. We use it to, well, get close and show you which button to press, while we hold you hand. Jus let the guy show you, and if your bad at it, thats actually kinda good for us. It gives us a chance to be close, since video games are lik sacred to us, if a guy lets you play with him, he definatlly likes you!

I can certainly see this happening, the guy "J" is jealous and still likes you, so he doesnt want you to like "F" instead. J might have made up some stuff about you to make J dislike you or make J think you wouldnt be interested in him. Trust me please, go after J and ignore F, this kind of stuff has happened in my school.

Sounds like he likes you but doesn't want his friends to know that. He's probably embarrassed to like you. Guys don't sit next to girls at art tables, ask them to come to their wrestling matches and play games with them if they don't like them. So he's just being immature and doesn't want to admit to his guy friends that he likes you. To prove it to them, he's not sitting with you anymore.

I'd still confront him and ask him why he said that to J. He sounds like a little F'er though.
