Okay, not to bring you down or anything, but before you actually start losing weight, people usually try 5 diets or more, and fail at them. And then one day, they finally find something that woks for them. So this can also brea the chain of good motivation. I'm about 14 and I'm FINALLY starting to lose weight. So what I do is, I look at actors or models (healthy ones, not anorexic ones..) and I tell myself, "If I just stick to this plan, I"ll look like them one day." Or, when I"m mad, I just workout without any complaint. so....you gotta find someone or something to look up to! =)

Having my two dogs...I used to cycle between gaining weight, getting upset about it, eating better, exercising, losing weight, then getting sick or having something happen that I stopped exercising, gaining weight (repeat...)...but since I have had the dogs, I walk them in the morning and at night...no excuses. However, I am not suggesting that you take on a responsibility such as owning a dog if you are just looking to use it as an exercise plan. Good luck!

Well what keeps me motivated is the fact that I lost 48lbs 14 months ago. I don't really want to put the weight back on again.
Like many others I had tried many diets. All of them working whilst I was on them. But unfortunately, as soon as I stopped all the weight would go back on again, plus more.
So I came to the conclusion that I would have to change my lifestyle and eating habits for good to keep the weight off. So that is just what I did.
I decided to eat healthy for good. This is what I eat.
Lean meats, poultry, fish, eggs, vegetables, potatoes, pasta, brown rice, beans & pulses, whole grains, fresh fruit, skimmed milk, low fat dairy products, non sugary cereals, coffee, tea and sugar free beverages. Healthy oils, olive, sunflower, safflower, flaxseed, and rapseed.
I also eat but only in MODERATION
Take away meals, meals you buy in the supermarket, processed meats, sweets, chocolate, cakes, biscuits, sugared fizzy drinks, alcohol. Alll these foods are high in saturated fat, sugar and salt. They add to those unwanted pounds.
Drink plenty of water, cut my portion sizes down, stop eating when I feel full.
Exercise is so important. This helps you to lose the weight and then helps to maintain it.
I attend a gym 5/6 times a week for 1 hour at a time. I also walk whenever I can. Swim too. The more you move the better.
The results are amazing. You not only look better, but feel so much better too. You have lots more energy.
But as I said you have to stick to it. It is all about a changing your eating habits and lifestyle for good, or for as long as you want to keep the weight off.

u have gotta attack diet or exercise as life style and not just as something to do. if say going to the gym becomes a part of ur routine and not something u have to do then u would be happier going. i plan the rest of my schedule to fit around my training schedule bcos it is that important to me. i also have a weakness for fitties so going to the gym is fun for me on that note as well. but i get my biggest motivation is my fear of getting fat

the idea that when im at that perfect weight i can wear anything I want to. aand, not having to worry as much about having a pig out day!!
imagine something you really want that you can only get when you lose the weight, and in a certain amount of time.
a weird thing you can do obvioulsy when your alone is be naked when your alone, youll see your body and if your not happy with it your less likely to pig out because you cant hide your body while eating!
I did that and Uma Thurman says she does that.
In any spare time (even5 minutes a day extra at home do little excersizes in stead of sitting down.) even when you make a cup of tea or something jump up and down while the kettles boiling :)
it gives you more enerjy, boosts your metablosism and obviously helps you lose weight!

Get a trainer. That IS the only way that I can stay on track because I seem to be the same as you.
If you are paying for someone to work with you, you are more likely to remain more motivated.

The goals I set. Other people you are exercising with. You want to beat them and show them you are better than them so you work harder under other people's presence.

I just remind myself that hunger for highly saturated fat foods and sugary foods will pass, but the weight that it puts on will stay until you work it off. "a moment on the lips, forever on the hips"
most of it is just mental reassurance that you can do it. you can do it!
