No,bag balm won't help. Just keep it clean and dry and use the antibiotic ointment. Make sure she doesn't lick it.
Bag balm is for chapped, rough teats from milking it is soothing, but has no medical qualities.
lol..I thought the dog had gotten bitten....oops.
Clean, dry and antibiotic ointment....cover it if it bleeds again
I agree with the finding out more about the dog..they have nasty mouths, but, I have been nipped and bitten a lot by my own pack, and turned out just fine...

I used to have a friend who used it on her hands, when she did hair and permanents...because of the allergic breaking out and burning that the perm solution caused her,..and she swore by it, ...I would be sure to go to the doctors however, as most time people are more afraid of RABIES...I don't know who's dog it is, but if you don't know, you should talk to your doctor..if you do know, then you are okay...I would use the peroxide and antibiotic ointment,....maybe you should go to the emergency room, seriously...Take care, and don't neglect it...I don't think I would dress it with the bag balm, personally...just the other two should suffice.

NO NO NO. Do not put anything on it.
Did you know the dog? If not, you need to immediately go to the doctor and call the ASPCA; the dog could have rabies, which is fatal in humans. If it is your dog, is it up to date on it's rabies vaccine?; if you know whose dog it is, you have to check about rabies.
If you don't feel the bite is serious enough to go to the doctor for: keep it washed with soap and water and change the bandage and antibiotic ointment daily. If it starts to get red and irritated looking or starts to drain or smell bad then you have an infection and will need antibiotics (at that point you have to go to the doctor).

I would go to the doctor ASAP, are your shots up to date? Dog's have bacteria in their saliva. When you get bitten this bacteria is left behind in the bite. Sometimes alcohol does not kill this bacteria. You may need prescription antibiotics. I recently had a skin cancer burnt of my nose and it blistered badly I kept it covered and applied calandula three times a day. I have no scarring. But definitely get checked out by your GP.
