That sounds great, I know a lot of people think it must taste like mud, but being professionally trained, it sounds like the end result (on low in a crock pot for 8-10 hours) would be a killer chili......You got a star for your ingenuity.......

ADDENDUM:

Spaced, my favorite:

Short ribs in French Onion Soup and Red Wine

Place beef shor ribs (standing up) in crock pot, pour one can of French Onion Soup over, add one cup of red wine, salt and pepper the top and cover and cook on low for 18 (yes, eighteen) hours........I usually put mine on at 10 pm the night before and serve them with 'taters and corn at about 6 the next night.......Enjoy!!

mine is turkey breast. Season with salt, garlic powder and a tsp of browning. Use fresh celery, green bell pepper and onion on and around the turkey breast. also, squeeze fresh lemon juice on the breast prior to cooking as it cuts the fresh taste. cook 10 hrs on low. best tasting thing you ever had.
p.s. the same can be done with a whole chicken.
