I was in AF Security Forces back in the cold war 84-89 I'm sure allot of things have changed, but some things always remain the same. The best advice for people going into basic is to pay attention and keep your mouth shut unless you are asked anything. Be a team player, but also take care of your own stuff first. AF basic isn't really that hard, and no one can prepare you for it, just get off the bus and do as your told. The hard part starts at your school for Security and gets harder in the advanced courses. No matter what anyone tells you about the Air Force or AF Security I can tell you that they are an extremely professional and disciplined team. Good luck, you should do fine. If you want a cool AF Security Forces t-shirt check out my designs here. http://www.proartshirts.com/ I wouldn't recommend wearing it to basic though.

Yes lots pal, Okay number one stay the hell out of the middle isle if you don't hell go crazy on your *** he did on me. And Immediatly find a locker with your bed because there is one bed that doesn't have anything and that was me and pist and scared. And if you wear glasses put them in your left blouse pocket and make sure those buttons are open or you'll pay in the middle of your sleep with an abrupt awakening.

Just remember its all a mental game. Its not personal so remember that. At times its going to be hard to remember that but as long as you focus on the goal, graduation, you'll be fine. Good luck and thanks for serving!

Please get the following phrase right and DON'T screw it up. Sir/Ma'am, Trainee (last name) reports as ordered. It MUST be said this way and this way only and must be said before you even think about talking to an instructor. Good luck.

Be physically and mentally prepared to hope for the best and expect for the worst.
