It was posted from our small town; someone saw it at a local shopping center where I go, and was apparently really ticked off! Question: does the statement "Jesus is a liberal" offend you? If so, WHY? One person thinks it means that Jesus is a promiscuous, pot smoking "hippie." What say you, and are YOU offended? Of course Jesus did hang out with low lives and fallen women ( ha ha) he also by all accounts had a beard and sandals. No suit and short hair for THAT dude. Your opinion, please! And when you think of some of the recent things conservatives have gotten caught up in, whats so terrible about being liberal?

Awwww, I'm so proud of you ;)
Heck, liberal doesn't even mean the same thing today that it did 40 years ago.

Trust me, nobody's gonna be equating Jesus with Ted Kennedy or Nancy Pelosi anytime soon. That, however, does not stop him from being a "liberal" (or a conservative, but neither would anyone compare him to Dubya, hopefully). Let's all put Jesus in our own little box -- which, by the way, I am almost 100% positive you did NOT intend to do, and neither would I -- and see how that works out. Hmmmmm.

To answer the basic question, I am not offended -- but if I thought the person WAS trying to equate Jesus with Ted Kennedy, I would question that individual's intelligence.

He turned religion, especially Judaism, on their collective heads. Jesus hate religion. The "god" he spoke of is the individual spirit that we each are. If you compare the god of the OT to the god that Jesus spoke of you will find that they are complete and total opposites. Jesus would be appalled that a religion had been founded in his name. He taught that we are each a temple, hence the temples of our head and what's between them. We have the brain and mostly the pineal gland, or third eye. He never taught religion. He taught freedom from religion. So, yeah, he was a major liberal as well as an ascended master. That is why he said greater works would we do, and he wasn't talking about religion. Our vibrational level today has increased, making people more aware of the truths that are out there. Our pineal gland has responded to the higher vibration as well as our DNA. What he said is coming together. The man with the jug of water is at the door, the Age of Aquarius, the water bearer. You have to read what Jesus actually said compared to what the religions have taught that he said.

I don't do drugs, never have. I don't run around on my wife, never have. I've worked for a living for 46 years and I have to work a lot longer before I can retire. I have standard length hair. I am a liberal. I dislike commies as well as neocons. I vote Democrat. I haven't seen any Republican that isn't in the pocket of the big corporations and fundis.

I'm sure Jesus was a liberal. It's just all those guys re-wrote him and now people believe that version. It's too bad, really. I'm hoping when these people die and go to Heaven or whereverJesus smacks 'em around a little for making up so much BS about him. :)

It doesn't offend me, man (go figure). I doubt Jesus would tell us that the economy is more important than the environment, or that killing people in other countries is good foreign policy. He might be considered a liberal by todays standards--I'd say he was borderline socialist!

It doesn't offend me in any way because he WAS a liberal. Being liberal is great, in my opinion, which is why I adopt homeless animals instead of going to fancy breeders.

Well, if they're reading stuff into it, that's their problem, not yours. They don't understand what a "liberal" is, or how Jesus could have fit the definition.

i am amused, not offended. he was a liberal wasn't he? in fact he was a bit of a revolutionary and a bit of an anarchist as well. i guess close-minded people wouldn't want to think of it that way.
