No shame in either branch. It's all in what you're looking for. But, if you're wondering what the AF has that would appeal to you, talk to a recruiter. TACP, Para-rescue, Combat Control, Survival training.....They are all challenging. You can also go to www.airforce.com, and check it out.

Why don't you take the test again? You're going to be limited on choices if you did poorly. If you'll be happy being an 11B infantry, or go airborne, your score won't hurt you. The AF tends to want smarter guys. If you want to make a career of it, you'll be lucky to make E-6 by the time you hit 20 years. If you're physically fit and can learn and adapt enough to get through promotion boards, you'll do well as a grunt.

Speaking as an old soldier I've always felt the AF had it better when it came to just about everything--barracks, chow, ammenities--but then again, I didn't join for those, and I wouldn't trade my Army career for all the carpeted rooms with refrigerators in the Air Force.

You think 73 is bad but not so much compared to other people. You might consider taking the test over if you don't qualify for the jobs you want. There are prep books like the ones for the SAT/ACT for the ASVAB that you could use to study. I'd check with recruiters from both branches to which jobs you qualify for with your current score. I think you'll be surprised.

Talk to recruiters of both and ask what a score of 73 qualifies you for then compare them and select the one you think you might like. Then it's all a matter of raising your right hand then putting on either a blue or a green uniform.

It would all depend on what type of job you want. Being Army, I'm a little biased, but we do offer a greater range of specialties. Go talk with a recruiter and find out what the Army has.

It depends on what you want to do. The Air Force had Pararescue.... you might be interested in looking into that. They also have security forces.
