Yes, absolutely, vodka can freeze. However, I will also tell you that your freezer does not get anywhere near cold enough to freeze the vodka. The winters in the Contiguous United States do not get cold enough to freeze the vodka either.

In the kitchen freezer the answer is "NO".
Does vodka freeze, the scientific answer is "YES, under certain circumstances."
QUOTE:
The freezing point will depend on the alcohol content. My guess is that we're looking about around 80 proof, that is, 40% alcohol. 95% ethanol (Everclear, if you like) freezes at about -110°C, which is about -200°F. Assuming a linear relationship we estimate that 40% ethanol freezes a bit below -40°C = -40°F. (Actually, 40% ethanol freezes at almost -30°C according to the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.)
Most kitchen freezers won't go that low. But you should be able to freeze vodka or Jaegermeister with dry ice, which is at a temperature of about -100°C. UNQUOTE.
So both of you are right, sorta, huh? So tailor your debate based on the "circumstances under which ...." rather than debating on the absolute point "vodka does or does not freeze ...."
Where was the Internet when I was on my school's debate team (sigh). Sure would have won a few more trophies (sigh)
Good luck from one debater to another!

No, it will not freeze, it will not burst! Come on it's a Russian drink....it gets COLD in Russian. Many vodka connoisseurs keep vodka stored in the freezer.
Can you put vodka in the freezer?
Yes, the alcohol content in 80 proof vodka or higher will keep the vodka from freezing in the typical consumer freezer. If it does freeze, there should be no change in the vodka taste when thawed.

Of course it freezes, just at a very low temperature, so it may not freeze in your freezer at home. I believe water is the only substance that expands when it freezes, your vodka may not expand unless it is mostly water.

The freezing point of 40% vodka is about -30 degrees C
So sticking it in your freezer is fine, and will come out nice and cold :)

It will not freeze. Alcohol does not freeze in general. I keep my vodka in the freezer always.

A drink with 40% alcohol content will freeze at -20 degrees Celcius or -30 degrees Fahrenheit.
Not something you will be able to reach with your kitchen freezer.

No, it doesn't. I keep mine in the freezer.
Actually, it can freeze, but not in the average freezer. The freezing point of pure ethyl alcohol is about -179 F.
