Awe that is really lovely, how about dog walking, you could advertise in your local newsagents or one of the free weekly newspapers, lots of people have dogs but want someone to walk them at teatime or during the holidays, you could charge £3.50 per hour at the very least and you could top that up with a newspaper round, earn for walking the dogs and delivering the papers at the same time, good luck I hope you work something out and take your mom on that lovely holiday.

Wow - what a nice thing to do for your mum. If you really want this you CAN do it. Not sure where you live and the law on what age you can work - some places in Australia for instance you have to be 14 1/2 to work, but you can work earlier as long as your have your parent’s permission.

There is always babysitting, having a car wash in your neighbour, working at general stores, supermarkets, packing grocery’s, stocking up shelves etc... Also department stores. They are always looking for younger staff.

Any fast food places, McDonalds, KFC etc - they all take on casual staff. - Just walk in and ask !
Smaller takeaway shops, like Pizza, Pasta etc... They are always taking on delivery persons and need kitchen hands....

What about rest homes for eldery people, help in the kitchen and / or trolley runs for morning and afternoon tea.

Hope you get the job you want and Good Luck with it all.

Umm sorry to be a bit of a bummer, but depending on the type of abroad holiday you want to give your mum, you might not be able to earn enough (being so young and all). You could try to save for a few days retreat interstate?

I'm thinking Liz answered before you provided your age...

You must have old toys, games, clothes, anything second hand...why not have a yard sale and see how much that brings in....probably not enough for a foreign holiday.....but enough for some sort of treat...maybe a voucher for a health treatment or similar....these are usually about £25 to £50

That's really lovely and thoughtful of you. Maybe you could do a paper run (ask your local newsagent) or perhaps you could do some babysitting or some odd jobs for your neighbours such as lawn mowing or washing their cars.
